A friend shared this, and it's such a great idea I wanted to pass it along! "Don’t throw those beautiful cards away, update your contacts with their holiday card image. It’s best to take it a little further away then you can zoom in/scale. It’s my favorite part of the cards, get to enjoy them all year long!!!! "

Hahaha. Been there (on the opposite of the camera witnessing it) many, many times!

I was reminded this morning how difficult it is to photograph puppies! It can be frustrating because you have the cutest subject EVER in front of you, but they want to jump all over you and you can't get far away enough to take a photo (unless, of course, you have someone helping you and they have them on a leash, etc., etc., which I didn't). So with this little guy, I found the only way I could get a shot of him was to photograph him through the window so he couldn't get to me!

Macro photography opens up a whole new world you barely knew existed. Best of all, you don't have to worry about your subject copping an attitude (said the person who has photographed a bazillion two-year-olds)!

If you don't already have a macro lens, I recommend renting one or seeing if you have a kind friend who might let you borrow one for a day. I rented one for a job a few years ago, and quickly decided I needed one for myself. Now, there's no way you could pry that thing out of my hands. It is addictive. These are flax seeds, btw.

This video takes you behind the scenes with Ted Hesser and Andrew Studer, as they plan and ultimately capture some of the most iconic images of last week's total solar eclipse.

Love how this photographer used his skills to give back in such a creative way.
