My final photo session as a bangs girly for the present.

Growing them out is a practice in humility but it’s good to start a new year with achievable goals.

In truth, I’ve set some lofty goals for myself for 2026 and I’m looking forward to living a life in pursuit of them.

I might actually succeed in sharing some of them on here as well. 👀

I am grateful for everything I experienced in 2025 for setting me such a solid foundation to start 2026 on and I hope you all can say the same!

I love capturing families exactly as they are: full of movement, laughter, and those fleeting moments that already feel like memories.

I will always include some b&w photos in your gallery. You might think no color in an image equals boring, but I just love them. Why? Let me give you a little background of my perspective.

I started photography shooting on b&w film and was inspired by some really amazing female photographers like Margaret Bourke-White, Dorothea Lange, and Julia Margaret Cameron. The emotion that their black and white photos evoke and the way they force you to look at the moment captured differently is beautiful. When there is no color to pull you in and bring the image to life the moment itself really shines on its own.

I love that about b&w photos - that they allow a moment to stand on its own almost outside of time. They have a timeless quality about them - thanks in large part to the thousands of photographers over the last 200 years who set the bar with black and white as their only option for stopping time with a photograph.

Don’t get me wrong I LOVE color. I am so so glad I live in a world with color photography - I honestly probably be a photographer without color film and digital images BUT there is richness in a b&w image that connects us to the past that my little romantic heart won’t get rid of.
