Honored to be featured in the June/July issue of NORTH Magazine, with several images from weddings I’ve photographed here in Colorado.
The issue includes a story on the micro-wedding trend — fewer guests, more connection, less performance, and a lot more room for the day to feel like the couple.
Some of the images are from Jacob and Jamie’s wedding at Rhize, tucked into the west side of Pikes Peak. It was intimate, beautiful, loose, emotional, and genuinely fun — exactly the kind of wedding that reminds me why small celebrations can have such a big heartbeat.
Micro-weddings aren’t just “smaller weddings.” At their best, they’re more personal weddings. Everybody knows why they’re there. Everybody matters. And the couple actually gets to live inside the day instead of being carried away by it.
That’s also how I try to photograph weddings: documentary, in-the-moment, without turning the day into a photo shoot.
Thanks to NORTH Magazine for the feature, and to Jacob, Jamie, and all the couples who trust me to tell the story as it really felt.
