Labor Day weekend always feels like that little shift between summer and everything that comes next. 🤍⁠

And these photos feel pretty perfect for it. Warm evenings, mountain views, and getting everyone together in one place (which somehow gets harder and harder as families grow!).⁠

I especially love extended family sessions like this because you get so much more than one big group photo. Grandparents with their grandkids, each individual family, couples, siblings, and all the different relationships in between.⁠

There’s something about senior year that feels a little different. 🍂🤍

It’s this beautiful in-between season — still holding onto so much of who you’ve always been, while standing right on the edge of everything that comes next.

And maybe that’s why I love photographing seniors in the fall so much.

The changing leaves, cozy layers and golden evenings are beautiful, of course. But more than that, they seem to fit this season perfectly — a year filled with lasts, firsts, big decisions, excitement and so much possibility ahead.

These photos get to preserve a little piece of who you are right now, before life begins changing in all sorts of wonderful ways.

The secret? Coordinate, don’t match.⁠

Think warm neutrals, earthy seasonal tones, cozy textures and subtle patterns. Choose 2–3 complementary colors, mix in layers, and skip putting everyone in the exact same shade.⁠

And above all else—wear something you actually feel good in! Your session should include plenty of movement, cuddles and playing with the kids, so comfort matters. 🤍⁠
