C A L M .

Hope everyone had a Happy Halloween! I’ve loved seeing the fun costumes. Depending on your kiddos sugar intake though I know today can be rough. Here’s a photo from the beach in California that brings a bit of calm to some of that chaos. 😉

Also, missed the sunset tonight, so thought I’d share a beautiful one on the beach as tonight is my last night before I close out my twenties. So crazy time has flown by so fast. The past few years I’ve had some really low lows, but have also had some of the best highs as well. So much has happened in the past 10 years; meeting my person, graduating with my bachelor’s, moving, marrying the love of my life, taking multiple trips, having our first child, etc. Some big things for sure, but there have been so many small things that have been special along the way as well. I’m thankful for the hugs and kisses my little Ellie gives me and the hard work my husband puts in to provide for us and help. No day is perfect, but it’s a blessing just to have these two humans that love me unconditionally. I’m thankful for the great people around me and in my life as well. Here’s to the next 10 years and all the adventure it holds.

M E E T E L L I E .

Life has been busy since I last posted (back in 2020), so let me catch you up a bit.

At the end of 2020 we had our sweet girl Ellieana and life has been such an amazing adventure ever since. I’m still occasionally doing photography here and there, but it has definitely taken a backseat as I’ve been soaking up these moments with my growing girl (who somehow is already almost 2).

Thank you to those of you who still follow me (despite being inactive for way too long) and those who have also reached out and support my photography!

Here is a recent photo of Ellie I took during our fall leaf peeping at Kenosha Pass. I wanted to introduce her and update you all on the most beautiful change our life has had. As Ellie would say while grabbing your hand, “Good to meet you!”

Hope you, as well as your family and friends, have been enjoying this beautiful fall season! Here’s to change and all the beauty life holds ahead!

SUMMER BLUES.

Yay for it being Friday, though how crazy is it that tomorrow is already August? Where did the summer go? 😂 This summer has definitely been an odd one, but hopefully you've been able to get out and about some to enjoy the outdoors and beautiful weather.

SMELL THE BLOSSOMS.

What is your CALM? I know for me I enjoy photos of nature in general. It's out in nature that I find a sense of calm and peace. So let's escape there for a moment...

🏞 In the mountains, among the forest, next to a rushing river.

🏝 Along the beach, as the waves come in, with sand between your feet.

🌻 In a garden or open pasture, with vibrant colors and the smell of fresh flowers.

🌄 During a sunrise or sunset, as the sun and clouds seem to dance and paint the sky.

🍁 During fall when the leaves change to breathtaking colors as they put on their grand finale.

❄ During a winter snowstorm as everything is silenced to the sound of delicate snowflakes falling as they make a blanket of white.

I could go on,
🦋 About spring time and butterflies,
🌠 Night time and stars,
Nature in all its beauty.

📸 I love capturing that calm because looking at the photo feels as though you're escaping to that moment and experiencing that beauty.

🖼 That's why I love having prints and photos around the house...to bring that beauty and calm inside, where it can be shared and experienced not just once, but each day.

I'm not sure what your CALM is, but if it involves NATURE, you need to check out my prints that are for sale. Try bringing in some of that calm to your home, apartment, or office space. Brighten up your space and spread some joy. Hang that photo that gives you the sense of being on vacation even when you're just at home.🌊🏠

THANK YOU.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who came out to my artist reception on Thursday. I am so blessed to have such amazing support and cannot thank you all enough. A big thank you to those who purchased photos...it means so much to be able to share my art with others and I hope you enjoy them in your space just as much as I enjoyed being able to capture them. There truly is so much beauty around us and it's a blessing to share that with you all.

MAUI MADE.

It's ARTIST RECEPTION day TODAY!!! So no better day than today to share this shot from Maui with you. There really is nothing like a Maui sunset. Come by to see this print in person on metallic (trust me it's worth seeing in person 😉), as well as plenty other prints.

There will be prints up on the wall as well as smaller matted prints, like this one, available for sale. Definitely look through the bin to make sure to not to miss this photo. We'll have light refreshments and beverages.

RED-CRESTED CARDINAL.

🌈It's been raining here most afternoons and every now and then the storm will be accompanied by a beautiful rainbow. It has definitely reminded me of our time in Hawaii. We saw so many rainbows and it was absolutely beautiful. One of Hawaii's nicknames is "The Rainbow State." The combination of sun shining through during frequent rainstorms creates the beautiful prism colored rainbows and even some double rainbows. I was blessed to be able to get this shot of the red-crested cardinal with the most perfect rainbow background.

🐦This songbird is native to South America, but was introduced to Oahu around 1930. Despite its name, it's not related to the actual cardinal family, but is part of the tanagers species. I find it exciting that the only place this bird can be found in the United States is in Hawaii, which made it special to capture.

BE STILL.

Happy Tuesday! What a year it's been already. There definitely has been so much chaos and uncertainty going on that it's been hard for a lot of us to stay positive and hopeful. I know that verses or quotes can help give an uplifting perspective on life, offering some hope despite our struggles.

So, I want to know...

What are some of YOUR favorite QUOTES or VERSES?

I'm also looking into printing some of my photos with verses and quotes on them as well (swipe right for an example),

and I'd LOVE to get YOUR INPUT. 😉

FIERY FALL.

This photo is one of my many favorite fall photos (though really I have too many fall favorites lol). Fall really is such a beautiful time to capture nature in its transition as it illuminates its beauty through rich, vibrant colors.

The change of seasons is such a beautiful thing and I love being able to capture that beauty. This particular photo looks amazing as a metallic print with its fiery orange color and is for sale at Rhyolite Gallery in Castle Rock, CO this month.
