On Monday, our family lost our Grandma Carol. It was a shock and the kids and I have been going through the motions along with the rest of our family.
Grandpa mentioned that he didn't have a photo of her by herself, and I spoke up. Yes, we do. We have the photo because a few years back, I insisted that we needed one. In her normal way, she said thank you.
Grandma said thank you more than anyone I know. She said sorry more as well. She was the embodiment of unconditional love and will leave a huge hole in our hearts.
But tonight, as I poured through my images, I thought... This is why I do this. It is why I insist on getting individual photos of the eldest generation. Time is limited in our lives, and none of us wants to think about that. But your photographer should.
I will be taking December 19th to the morning of December 22nd off to be with my family. Messages will be responded to after sunset on the 22nd.
