There’s nothing like summer in the San Juans 🕊️

Sidney & Aaron’s elopement felt like something straight out of a dream. We started our day early early, Jeeping up the mountain passes, and catching sunrise over the peaks in the distance.

They shared their vows as the sun started to illuminate everything in a golden glow, and we wandered around mountain meadows, admired alpine lakes, and just had the best time ever.

Afterward, we headed back to Wyman to freshen up, grab some detail photos in the daylight (my favorite tip for sunrise elopements), and get ready for the next adventure.

We spent time with their family, taking photos with the sweetest loved ones, and had plans to hike to a waterfall… but the day had something else in mind. On our way back to the cars, we passed a man holding the reins of two horses. Everyone lit up. Her mom asked if she could ride one, and without hesitation, he said yes.

Sidney grew up riding, so it couldn’t have been more perfect. Getting to ride through a mountain meadow on your wedding day, in the middle of the Silverton wilderness… it just felt meant to be.

These kinds of kismet moments are what make elopements feel so personal, so unexpected, and so special 💌

I am just soooo stoked for all my summer elopements this year - it’s seriously my favorite time of year in Colorado & I know every one is going to be so special & beautiful 🤍

Okayyy I need honest opinions from elopement photographers!!

I'm thinking about hosting a workshop this year but like... not your typical one

- a tiny group (like 6 photographers)
- full-day storytelling elopements
- real connection, real moments, real direction
- and the kind of landscapes that make you slow down and actually feel what you're documenting

Lauryn & Austin, married in Rocky Mountain National Park on a perfect June day 🕊️

When I think of an intentional wedding day, Lauryn & Austin's day is just a perfect representation of that. They wanted to spend the day surrounded by their loved ones, while also taking time to explore & hike on their own.

To start the day, we had a 3 am wake up call for a magical sunrise hike where we were met with an incredible alpenglow above Emerald Lake. After we headed back down, we went back to the Airbnb where their family had prepared a brunch for everyone. They spent the afternoon prepping & napping, and we met back up that afternoon for the rest of the celebrations.

Lauryn & Austin had their ceremony at Upper Beaver Meadows (where I got married 5 years ago!) and it was the sweetest - they shared their vows privately before everyone else joined us for the ceremony. We spent some more time exploring in the park, running through the meadow, being enveloped by the woods, and basking in the most insanely beautiful & pink sunset 💞

After the sun dipped behind the mountain peaks, we headed back to the Airbnb for a taco dinner made by their family, toasts, and first dances out by the fire.

Beginning the day before sunrise, staying out until dusk watching the most glorious pink sky fade to blue, meals surrounded by the people you love most...it really doesn't get any better than that. Elopement days like this are always going to be my favorite - ones that are intentionally planned around the things that are most important to you ❤️

If you could design the perfect Iceland elopement day… it might look a little like this ✨

Laura & Hugo spent their day chasing waterfalls and exploring some of the most beautiful corners of Iceland. The morning started slow, getting ready together in the coziest little Airbnb before heading out for the adventure ahead.

First stop: Skool Beans - a school bus turned coffee shop that feels like a must-visit along the south coast. After coffee, we wandered along a black sand beach before making our way to a hidden waterfall tucked away from the crowds.

Standing beside the rushing water, they played rock-paper-scissors to decide who would read their vows first, then shared the most heartfelt promises with nothing but the sound of the falls around them.

I’ll be back in Iceland this July and already counting down the days until another Skool Beans coffee and getting to revisit some of these incredible places again 🕊️

One of the most common questions I get from couples is “what if it rains on our elopement day?”

Planning an outdoor elopement, it’s almost impossible to not worry about what the weather will bring.

But let me give you a little peace of mind 🫶🏻

Here in Colorado, storms will usually pass quickly. And we will always build flexibility into your timeline, shift locations if needed, or plan for sunrise to avoid the afternoon storms if that feels better to you!

But truthfully, most of my couples choose to simply embrace it.

Plus, I’ll always bring my clear umbrellas for you as a backup plan so you don’t have to get completely drenched.

When it does rain, the landscape deepens in color and the light softens into the most beautiful & moody glow. There’s really just something so romantic about promising forever while raindrops fall all around you.

Cassandra & Erik’s elopement on a mix of digital & film 💌

This day was so perfectly them - full of sentimental details like Cassandra wearing her mother’s jewelry, eating PB&Js by their Jeep, and spending so much time surrounded by their friends and family who made the trek to the San Juans just for them.

The morning started quietly at an Airbnb tucked into the forest, where Cassandra and Erik got ready slowly before slipping away to the porch to share their vows privately, just the two of them.

From there, we headed deeper into the backcountry and found a quiet meadow for their ceremony, with the peaks rising around us and their closest people gathered around them.

Afterward, we kept exploring to a hidden waterfall & an alpine lake where we soaked in all the magic of the San Juan Mountains before heading back to the Airbnb to celebrate with all of their loved ones.

This really was a day that felt easy, meaningful, and deeply their own 🕊️

When the sky is showing off just for you on your elopement day 🥹❤️

This was easily one of the most magical sunsets I've been able to witness & getting to watch it towards the end of Lauryn & Austin's Rocky Mountain National park elopement day was just so spectacular. I'm so excited for more magical moments like this in 2026 ❤️
