Half the fun of being in the Studio is trying things on the fly and seeing what happens.
Sometimes it starts with me saying ”OK wait… Try this” and somehow it turns into some of my favorite images from the session.

You do not need to know how to pose.
You do not need to be “ good in photos.”
You just have to trust the process little and be willing to play along with me for an hour or so.

The before and after moments are always my favorite part because what feels awkward for two seconds can turn into absolute magic on camera.

Honestly, the best session usually happens when we stop overthinking and just have fun with it.

There’s always a reason to wait.

“I’ll do it when I lose the weight.”
“When life slows down.”
“When I feel more confident.”
“When everything feels a little more together.”

But the truth is… there’s rarely a perfect time.

And maybe that’s the point.

Sometimes doing something for yourself before you feel fully ready is the thing that changes how you see yourself in the first place.

Not because bo***ir magically fixes everything. But because it reminds you that you’re already worthy of being seen exactly as you are right now.

Confidence doesn’t always come first.Sometimes courage does.

Currently digging through all my Costa Rica photos, started playing with edits and loving these!

There’s something really special about having a friend who will travel across the world with you, try crazy ideas, model when needed, scout locations, learn beside you, and always be down to create something beautiful.

Some of my favorite memories honestly aren’t even the photos. They’re the conversations on long drives, getting caught in random adventures, late night editing sessions, figuring things out as we go, and constantly being inspired by the places we travel and the people we meet along the way.

Going through these reminded me why I love retreats, travel, and photography in the first place. Not just for the photos we create, but for the experiences and friendships that come with it.

I’m also a little sad and sappy reminiscing. Miss you all! Pura Vida

This week changed something in me.

I’ve always been someone who chases experiences… retreats, workshops, travel, learning. It fills me up.

But the Beyond Brilliant retreat in Costa Rica with Jessica McKnight hit on a completely different level. I attended last January and knew I needed to come back.

It wasn’t just how beautifully organized it was (and it truly was).

Every detail was thought through. Every moment had intention.

It wasn’t just the educators either… although they were incredible!

They didn’t just show up to teach, they showed up for us.

In group settings, in one-on-one moments, in passing conversations… they gave their time so generously, and it made all the difference.

And then there were the connections.

The kind that go deeper than “we met at a retreat.”

Late-night therapy talks, real conversations, nonstop laughter…

The kind of friendships that feel instant but lasting.

And somehow in the middle of all of that…

✔️ Surf lessons (stood up on my second try 🙌)

✔️ My first earthquake 😳

✔️ ATV rides to a waterfall

✔️ Dinner on the beach with fire dancers

✔️ Moments where I actually stopped and thought… “this is my life right now” (it happened every day)

It was eye-opening in a way I didn’t expect.

A reminder to slow down. To stop worrying about everything. To actually be present and enjoy what’s right in front of me.

I’m so grateful,

to every educator who poured into us,

to the models who brought everything to life,

and to all of the incredible new friends I made this week. You made this experience what it was.

I’ll always be a retreat/workshop junkie…

because I love growth, new experiences, and seeing the world.

But this one?

This one set a new standard

I smiled and giggled and thought…
“Eeeek… why am I in love with myself?”
If you know me, you know I’m the biggest hype girl.
I will not let you speak badly about yourself.
I’m the one reminding you how beautiful you are.
But lately I realized…
I needed to hear those words from someone else.
From me.
Because the world did not prepare women for this stage of life.
You hit 50 (sometimes before) and suddenly everything changes.
You forget words mid-sentence.
You can heat an entire room spontaneously.
You cry… then rage clean the house.
You love everyone… then five minutes later want to live alone in the woods.
Your body changes.
Your brain changes.
And no one really talks about it.
For a while, I felt like a sweaty, fat troll living under a bridge.
And honestly… I felt nothing.
But something is shifting.
Slowly… I’m starting to feel like me again.
And today I caught myself smiling at my own reflection and thinking,
“Okay… maybe she’s still in there.”
Maybe she never actually left.
PS… I’m not saying the Maui life and a tan didn’t help a little.
