Life Update — From Behind the Lens

I’m not usually one to share personal stuff here — this page is meant to celebrate love, beauty, and the stories I get to capture. But this year has hit me hard in more ways than I ever expected.

since the end of February: I was laid off. I’m going through a divorce. And to top it off, my car’s transmission gave out and I had to buy a new car. It’s been wave after wave, and if I’m being real, I’ve just been trying to keep my head above water.

Because of all this, I’ve fallen behind on editing, posting, and staying as connected as I’d like to be. If you’ve been waiting on something from me, please know it’s not forgotten — I’m working through everything as quickly and carefully as I can.

That said, I’m starting to see a better side of life again. And I’m so grateful for the people who’ve shown me patience and kindness through it all. Thank you for sticking with me.

Kicked off wedding season with a bang! Morgan and Marty’s day was easily the chillest I’ve ever shot—but totally worth it for the epic photos we captured. Big congrats to these two!

One of my all-time favorite shots—perfect timing and the perfect view of the Ravenel Bridge. 🙌 I was in Charleston scouting for a production when I noticed there was just a little light left, so I sent the drone up. The result? This epic capture. 🌅✨

For those of y’all who don’t know me—hey, I’m David! 👋🏼 I started MDP almost 10 years ago while in undergrad and have since captured well over 200 weddings.

For the past 2.5 years, I’ve been a photographer at a large ad agency, creating high-end commercial content for clients. But as of yesterday, I’ve officially made the leap back into full-time freelance!

Not gonna lie—it’s both exciting and terrifying stepping into the unknown. But I’m ready to hit the ground running. Grateful for all the support along the way!

Oh, and I can’t forget to shout out my wife Bianca and our two beautiful babies, Porter & Stout. 🖤

Swipe through the stunning moments from Sarah and Myers’ wedding day at The Barns at Gunn-Stewart Farm in Warrenton, Georgia! Driving from Cola, I hoped for beautiful weather, and it delivered! The vibrant colors of the leaves perfectly complemented the bridesmaids’ dresses and groomsmen’s suits.
