Last weekend was a big tennis weekend in my world. I've photographed many things in my 35+ years of shooting, but haven't done much sports photography (the last I remember, was capturing Formula One cars whizzing around 'Silverstone' back in the 90's when I worked for Top Marques Magazine)
With all the photography I have done, I have never needed anything more than my 300mm lens but was lucky enough to borrow a 600mm lens from a fellow photographer friend and I am thrilled with the results. It was so much fun to shoot these ☺️🎾📷

It's been a while since I've shot a wedding, it's been even longer since I shot one on film. I just came across an old USB stick with a selection of scans of wedding Photographs I took somewhere between probably 2003 and 2006. Seems like a lifetime ago.
Apologies that the quality of the scans were so bad, the digital world of photography definitely makes things easier in that respect, but I loved the mystery of taking a photo on film, capturing the moment, feeling and knowing that you caught it and being rewarded with it when you collected your prints from the lab. When you have to change the film in your camera every 36 shots, you don't waste them, every one has to earn its place on that film! With weddings especially, you don’t have time to be constantly changing the film - you daren’t miss a thing!

I am thrilled to share that one of my photographs will be in an exhibition in Chicago in September - this time it’s the ‘Portait Photographer of the Year’. The photograph was from a senior session - such a smart and beautiful young lady!

So thrilled to have four of my photographs chosen to be exhibited in the digital showcase of the ‘BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR’ run by Gurushots at the Agora Gallery in New York in February. They were over 64,000 entries from 41 countries - I will be amongst some of the best photographers in the world!
I will post a link to the virtual screening just as soon as it is released.
