I can't believe we are almost half way through June! I have a few openings remaining for my summer sessions!
People do typically do fall sessions but summer sessions are special. Summer sessions give you:

😜Kids are more relaxed without school schedules

😎Warm weather (ours this year has been amazing) means comfortable outdoor sessions - no freezing

Having headshots taken is up there with going with the dentist. No one wants to do it but it's a requirement in the professional and creative world. Even artists have to have headshots!

I know that when a company hires me to do their headshots it's not easy on everyone. Adults don't like having their picture taken. Period. So when I have a headshot client I do my best to PREPARE them prior then at the session to make it "painless" and lighthearted. It's really about building CONFIDENCE with knowledge before and reassuring you during your session that you are doing FABULOUS!

Who loves Marketplace? If you've never taken a stroll on it then you MUST! Pretty much all of the furniture in the studio is from there BUT I recently found this stunner - Melissa is stunning as well - and I must say best $125 I've spent on the new studio!

Enough about the sofa. Melissa needed headshots for her upcoming book. When she asked if she could wear color - of course! Let's show you! I knew that the color against the all-white space would pop. I couldn't imagine Melissa's headshots being corporate and stiff.

Q: What are the 3 Myths About Having Senior Photos Taken?

A:
1. You should have them taken close to graduation!

This is simply not true and honestly the closer to graduation the more stressed, busy you are making it harder to find time in your schedule to have them taken! Senior photos can be taken any time during your senior year! Class of '26 - summer is the perfect time and it will be here soon.

2. You have to be a pro in front of the camera!
Soooo false!! Most of my senior clients have never had professional photos taken or at least not since they were little! No experience is required because I will help you every step of the way, showing you exactly what to do in front of the camera!

3. You don’t need senior photos if you had a yearbook photo taken!

In no way should your yearbook photo count as your senior photos! Yearbook photos have a place in the yearbook! Senior photos are going to capture who you really are and give you not only photos from your senior year but an actual experience to remember for years to come!

4. Guys don't need senior photos. Need and want are two different things. Mom if you want the professional photos then let's do it. I offer quick 45 minute sessions for guys so they aren't being "tortured" with photos. 🤣

Minis are some of my favorite type of sessions and I'll be honest - I only book minis for my own personal family session! That's it. 20 minutes is plenty for all of us - it is now that I have teens and was when I had littles with energy abound. I have FOUR REASONS why mini sessions are the best ever especially during this super busy time of year!
