One Columbia is still accepting applications for the next City of Columbia Poet Laureate! ✍️✨

The Poet Laureate serves as a public advocate for poetry, literature, and creative expression—sharing their work throughout the community and helping people of all ages connect with the arts.

For the past four years, Jennifer Bartell Boykin has brought poetry into spaces across our city, from workshops and readings to the Soda City Poetry Festival and beyond. Now, it’s time for the next poet to carry the laureateship forward.

📍 Applicants must be poets from across Columbia, including those with a verified Columbia, SC address.

📅 Applications are open through September.
