maria said for her wedding she wants to feel like a royal (AS SHE SHOULD!!!) so for her engagement session we decided to put on the glass slippers and get into that ✨queen energy ✨at the ohio statehouse!!
juan + maria were both so willing to let me try new things and let the inspiration flow!! I LOVEEEE some of the unique perspectives I got / how I got to play with lighting / her outfits + accessories (how gorgeous?!) which really informed some of what I wanted to try!!
she was so elegant and easy to photograph because somehow she knew exactly how to achieve the vision she was hoping for in her mind’s eye 🕊️ she brought it to life in real time, plus a healthy mix of giggles from the lovebirds hehe
I am so excited for september and to stand by these two as they say “i do” before the Lord and all of their favorite humans!!! it’s going to be the royal wedding of 2026 for sureeeee!!
I have rarely gotten to shoot at the statehouse while there’s good natural light outdoors, filtering in— and so it was so astonishing to me to see how the light came through in certain spaces and then conversely how my flash helped illuminate the rest!! it’s so fun as a creative, actually getting to dig and play and construct in a proverbial sandbox; to build and mold and have fun, and let the session morph into what the figurative sand and waves want it to become 🤍
