What are some of the things you planned the most when you were expecting? Planning your registry, researching car seats and strollers, preparing your nursery? It’s a whole new world to prepare for and it can feel overwhelming!!

My sweet friend Lauren of wrote about what you ACTUALLY need, and some tips for preparing your room and/or your nursery for your baby, and her own story of not having a nursery!!

It’s the kind of resource I wish I could have had before I had my first baby. There’s a wealth of wisdom in there and whether you’re preparing for your first or fifth baby, I’m sure there’s something helpful for you!

Your backyard is one of my FAVORITE places for photos šŸ˜
This is where your kids play and your memories are made, so why not document them here?
Some of my favorite photos - especially from early on in my photography journey - are ones of parents playing with their kids in their yards, on the swings, going down the slide, running through a sprinkler!! Want to make your photo session as fun as a summer day? Let’s talk about what activities we can capture in your own backyard!!

small things, too, are full of awe
- (from the end of one of his poems)

It’s all the little moments that we love to remember. Being with my kids daily reminds me of this - and that’s why I want to document even the small moments for you. So we don’t forget what the days looked like: our little explorers of the world who shout ā€œairplane!ā€ with such delight, who toddle over towards the water to see the ā€œquack quackā€, and with eagerness run into mom’s arms after a fall.

I actually cried while getting ready to hit ā€œpublishā€ on this latest blog. 🄹
Recently, after taking a break from Instagram, I finally decided to stop pausing on my blog and begin posting there more regularly. I’m so excited to have a different avenue to share photos with you, but in a way that gives you more of a glimpse into my heart AND gives you helpful resources in motherhood!!
Think session guides, how to prepare, what to wear… and also tips from experts on how to get your babies to sleep, how to make it through different stages of postpartum, etc!
I’m so very excited to share more with you!
This first blog is a piece from the heart. Some encouragement you don’t want to miss from a wise friend of mine who is the kind of mother I dream of being.
Time is a thief. Enjoy the season you’re in šŸ¤ and if you read it, tell me so I can tell my friend what an encouragement she really is!!

I’m caught between a plea of ā€œplease stay this little foreverā€ and ā€œplease give me just 3 minutes to chop the veggies for dinner.ā€ My heart aches at every sign of growing up yet treasures watching them learn a new skill, especially when it means I may get a few more minutes to drink some coffee or knock out a task. But I also can’t help but think about how much I’ll miss these days, and about the kind of mother I want to be. Which is the mother who loves and enjoys her children and allows them to interrupt her ā€œimportant workā€.

Snuggling my babies a little extra these days.

I know it’s going to change too quickly. I never want my to do list to get in the way of enjoying my babies. Yes I need to be able to have a few minutes to cook dinner and get things done, but if my baby needs to be held the whole time, then so be it. My chores, my wants, my business will always take the backseat to my children.

Motherhood is rich. And we’re not promised tomorrow.

Your first child is the first time you experience your heart living outside of you.

There is something sacred about the child who first makes you a mother. It’s a bond rich with firsts and beginnings, new levels of exhaustion you never thought possible, challenges and messes, and a love that seems endless despite all of that.
You’re transformed yourself into someone who is more loving and patient and gentle than you could have imagined. All the while you watch a tiny version of you growing up before your eyes.

The richest life you can have. Witnessing this love unfold in front of my camera is a privilege I’ll never get over.

I’m so grateful for all the families who trust me to document their greatest treasures šŸ¤

I’ve been going back through old galleries lately and thinking about how fast time moves.

Our little guy just turned 8 months old, and our big girl just turned 2! I can hardly remember what life was like before them, and it’s unbelievable how much they’ve changed already. I just want to bottle it all up!

And this is my heart for when I do photos for your family, too. I know that you feel how quickly your babies change and how fast time goes, and you want to remember all the precious details and funny things your kids do. And this is just what your your session will feel like šŸ¤

Grateful for the families who trust me to step into their lives and capture it as it is.

Some things I’ve been really grateful for lately:
• big hugs from my little girl (there’s nothing better)
• seeing my parents play with my kids on a regular basis (and seeing how much my kids love it!)
• Marco polos with friends who I’ve known for over a decade
• having this job! A job that allows me to have space for art and creativity while also being able to stay home with my babies
• a different pace of life now that our youngest is doing soooo much better with eating & sleeping!

I love that when I start to list the things I’m thankful for, the list just grows and grows. It’s such a good practice to turn our attention to all of the sweet things in life. If you are good at making a habit of this, please share how because I’d love to hear!!
