My garden has taken up so much of my time that I haven't posted anything all summer! Here's a sweet newborn session where newborn bsby sister is 5 weeks old. I often take newborn photos when baby is 1-2 weeks when they are teeny tiny. But that isn't always possible. My goal is to make newborn sessions easy and not another task to add to Mom and Dad's long to-do list. Sometimes tho it takes longer to get settled after bringing baby home, especially when you also have a toddler. The trade off is instead of photographs of baby's teeny tinyness you get alwrt eyes looking at the camera and smiles while gazing at their Dad.

All newborn outfits, props, fresh flowers, and Mom's dress were provided by me :)

So grateful for this incredibly sweet email. I've been going through it this Spring with two deaths in the family who were both younger than me, a dog attack, and Violet having a health issue that requires surgery soon.
Sessions have been a wonderful escape from all of that because I prepare for sessions by boxing up any low frequency issues Im having in order to create happy wholesome vibes for your photo sessions. The energy I bring really makes or breaks a photo session so when I'm going through icky stuff in my personal life it's essential that I can put it to the side.
Anyway this message came at just the right time ❤️

I will definitely be blogging this session to share otherwise this newborn session will have 4 parts to it!

I wish I had taken a BTS photo to show how I setup styled newborn portraits in a client's home. All I need is a section of nice flooring or an area rug by a window to create these. Mom was right next to me at the dining room table as I took the first few photos in this post.

I always encourage new clients to talk over zoom before hiring me. When you hire me to do any type of session we will work closely together and you'll want to be with a photographer you can be at ease with and completely trust. That trust comes through in your photos when you're able to let down your guard and have photos that capture loving, nostalgic, and wholesome scenes of your life. So it's really imperative 🙂.
