It’s not every day that your young man turns eleven, now is it?
While Harry was chugging butter beer at a few months ago, I snuck off and had a Hogwarts admission letter crafted, wax seal and all, for him to receive tomorrow morning on his birthday.
I cannot wait until he hears it shoot through the mail slot and see his face when he opens it!

The one thing we did in NYC that was way better than I expected? Edge] without a doubt. I’ve been to the top of the rock and the Empire State Building (which are both great, don’t get me wrong) but the Edge blew them away! It didn’t matter that we were there in the middle of a 95 degree afternoon with a heck of a lot of other people, it was epic. Harry had a blast! Before we left he had all the details about when he can go back and do the City Climb there (once he has turned 13 and has had a growth spurt to get him up to 4’9”). It’s been great motivation for him to eat more veggies and calcium! Also, this was not in any way paid for or endorsed by Edge] we paid full-price and had timed tickets just like everyone else there. We just really loved it and wanted to share!

I cannot believe it’s already been a month since our visit to NYC. Favorite part? Walking the entire Manhattan Bridge and exploring DUMBO with these two cuties.

Day 4 in NYC was supposed to be the day we headed for home but had something else in mine when they cancelled our flight at 7am but that’s ok because it ended up being the best day of all!

After meeting a friend for coffee and getting our flight rescheduled and another night at the hotel booked, we hopped on the to Wall Street so Harry could see the Wall Street Bull. From there it was back up to to pick up a souvenir for Harry’s Nana at the shop (she loves Law & Order), and a quick cool down in the fountain before we hopped the big bus up to take a walk through Central Park.

We finished our last night in NYC with pizza (Harry’s 6th or 7th slice of the trip) and a visit to the store where Harry picked his wand (Harry’s wand, of course), had his name engraved on it (Harrison because it needs to be formal he told us), and tried butter beer for our very first time! Pro Tip: don’t just buy one to share, as soon as Harry got his first sip, he drained the tankard!
