Ohio State grad photos kick off THIS weekend!!! Eeep! 🤩🥳 To say I’m excited is a huge understatement—this really is the best time of year 🤩

For those of you that don’t know, I graduated from OSU and travel back every April for a few weeks for my grads! It seriously never gets old. The energy, the outfits, the champagne… I’m obsessed with each session 🤍

I’m officially in Columbus for all my Ohio State grads! 🥳🥳 This week has been pretty quiet with lots of rain and reschedules, but looking forward to next week’s amazing weather (70 degrees and sun?!) and a packed schedule of shoots ☺️

my TOP tips for shooting during golden hour since it’s my fave!! 🌞⬇️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☀️i always schedule my shoots to start ahead of golden hour because you never know if there will be buildings/trees/etc blocking the sun when it starts to set. and when it does begin to set it goes down QUICK!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☀️ if you can, go to your shoot location a few days beforehand and time out when and where the sun is in the best spot!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☀️ for the love of god- face your clients AWAY from the sun! 😂 you’ll get an amazing backlit photo and won’t blind them 🤷🏼‍♀️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
☀️ use a lens hood! if you don’t have one just place your hand slightly over the top of your lens to help shield the sun away a little bit, if it’s super bright and causing too much flare.

pro tip- if you have a vision of what you want your photoshoot to look like, even if it’s just based off one photo, tell me/your photographer!! getting creative is the best part👏🏼
