10/10 recommend having your family photosession at home if your kiddos are toddler-aged. It’s where your kids feel the most comfortable and most safe to just be themselves. Home also offers so many conveniences: a bathroom, snacks, changes of clothes, toys, air conditioning 😆

We had planned an indoor/outdoor session for this family but it was just too HOT for much time outdoors, so we brought the summer vibes with ice cream instead. Being at home offers options that just wouldn’t be possible out at a park, and options are good to have for the unpredictability that comes with having kids under the age of five.

What if we don’t worry about how the kids are going to behave and just follow their lead? Kids are inventive, authentic, curious, playful - all qualities that inspire photos that will hold those same qualities.

So if you’re holding off on family photos because you think you’re kids can’t handle it, let that worry go. I’ve got you ;)

There are no rules for what constitutes a “family” session. You and your mom want to make photos together and celebrate the relationship you have together (plus your fur baby!) - that’s all the reason you need.
