Aw... the romance. It Dave & Izabela are such a sweet couple. I love watching the non-verbal communication of couples. I think you can tell a lot about a couple from the things that aren't said.

"Waiting with all of our hearts."

The ins and outs of adoption were mostly a mystery to me until my husband's sister and her husband started looking to adopt. I can't believe the amount of emotional and physical work it is to adopt. It is clear the love between these two is carrying them through.

My goal for photography this year is to have at least one shoot a month. I have realized that being able to stretch my creative muscles empowers and energizes me in other parts of my life. Photography brings me so much joy and I meet so many rad people doing it!

This is one of my favorite things to do every year! It has been one of my greatest pleasures to watch this family grow over the years. I cannot believe how much these kiddos have grown!!

One of the greatest benefits of photography is getting to capture your family at a moment in time. Taking family photos every year allows you to see the changes in your family from year to year. I know each year I am reminded of the phase in life we were in and where we are now.

Everyone deserves to be a princess on their birthday! 👸💋💕

Viola was an absolute DREAM to shoot. She created magic on and off the camera. I loved the creative energy she brought to the shoot. I hope to see her in my photos again soon!

Again it's been a little quiet around here. Graduate school takes up much of my time and I don't update this page nearly as often as I should.

Over the next few weeks I will be updating my feed with my most recent work.

As always my clients are inspirational and feed my creative side. It is a pleasure and honor to capture moments of their lives!📸

Senior Photos!!

The class of 2021 certainly has a different experience than any class before them. Anyone who knows this girl can attest to how special she is! My favorite part of shooting with her is when she wants to take pictures with her horse.

Some tips for working with animals:
1. Plan for extra time for one of these shoots.
2. Ask your client about the temperament of the animal, how they would expect the animal to behave. You would be amazed by how well owners know their pets!
3. PATIENCE. They do not always cooperate but if you are patient and always at the ready you can get AMAZING shots.
4. Dive right in! Don't be intimidated by the prospect of having an animal present. Have as much fun with them as you would with any other client!

Just another cloudy day in Columbus, Ohio! Did you know that a photographers photo taking strategies will change based on the lighting that they have that day? Cloudy days and the golden hour are a photographers dream. However in many cases this doesn't work out!

A few tips for shooting in full sun:

1. Avoid shooting at high noon, it is better if the sun can either be in front of you or behind you.
2. Shoot either early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
3. Know your area! If there are great places for shade at certain times of day use this to your advantage.
4. Slightly underexpose your RAW photos. This allows you to retain background color while also preserving skin tones. Then you can use your editing software to bring back the beautiful colors!
