In early 2024 my little brother passed.
I’d always understood that photos hold power. Value. Weight. Whatever you’d prefer to call it. Especially being a wedding photographer, that’s kind of implied in the job description.
My younger brother, only 13, passed away in March 2024. I was 18. I’d been doing photography for 5 years at that point; weddings for almost 3. Photos and videos are the only way my family has to see and hear my brother’s face and voice. To see his smile. Hear his laugh.
When I got back to doing weddings a few months later, I could feel a change. Obviously yes the wedding day is for the couple. It’s their biggest day, after all! But there was something different. I realized that anything could happen at any time. The photos I take could be the last few photos they have of a family member, friend, or some sort of loved one.
I knew I had to start doing that justice.
Everyone deserves to be photographed beautifully. Families deserve to have their loved ones’ beauty and energy preserved for forever. I have a way to provide that service to these families.
Special moments with your mother, father, sibling, grandparent, aunt or uncle, and everything in between are priority. Take those few more moments savoring time with them. Even if it bumps your timeline back. Remember, nothing happens on your wedding day without you, lol.
I’ll be here. Floating quietly in the background, silently observing. Capturing all the small, innocent in between that most people miss or don’t think twice about.
Because sometimes…
Those moments mean the most a few years down the line.
