Tip #1: Runway 101: Lock in Your "Sweet Spot"
"On a fast-paced runway, split seconds make or break your images. Every venue is different, so use the first few walks to find your "sweet spot", it’s the exact mark where you feel the lighting composition, and focal length align best for a great shot of the garment and model.
Once your frame is locked in, wait for the model to hit your spot rather than chasing them with your lens. This ideal shooting window is dictated by the model’s walk, the beat of the music, and the exact moment their foot falls. This allows you to capture the full silhouette for flawless gallery consistency. You can elevate this shot by pushing the Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8 to 150mm wide-open at f/2.8 for dramatic background compression, trusting its rapid autofocus to nail that crucial split-second window and make those vibrant garments truly stand out."
