Yesterday afternoon I responded to assist DCNR with a large wildfire in the Sinking Valley area. Upon arrival I was tasked with monitoring the line at the head of the fire to make sure with the wind it didn't flare up, or generate a spot fire. While monitoring the line I also capture a bunch of images to stitch together a large photo of the fire area for investigative purposes.

I may not know all the rules, but I am pretty sure Justin Peachey isn't getting out of a penalty just because he replaced the cone he knocked over during UMI's King of the Mountain at UMI Motorsports Park

As part of my drone flying I am a member of my county's emergency management drone team that can be requested for emergency call outs, or other functions.

Today the drone team along with our county resources was deployed for the implosion of the stacks and cooling towers at the Homer City generating station. I was able to capture the following video during the implosion, just outside of the 3000 foot exclusion zone. The same video slowed down to 30% speed will be posted on YouTube and a link posted in the comments as soon as it is ready.

In the comments is a short clip of the cooling towers implosion from the thermal view.

NOTE: There was a Temporary Flight Restriction in place during this event BUT I was authorized to operate inside of it as part of our support of the event.

There were a couple shootout runs where I had severe interference causing signal loss during the run which brings the drone to a sudden halt. Those have a price tag of just a couple bucks compared to the usual since I generally only got half a run in those cases.
