Sometimes the weather has other plans. 🌫️

Ajit & Neena really wanted a sunrise beach maternity session, so we stayed overnight in Ogunquit and set our alarms for 4:30 AM to make it to the beach for sunrise.

And then… we got this. 😂 At some points, we couldn't see more than 20 feet in front of us!

I can't guarantee the weather, and I'm definitely not a magician, but I can work with what we're given. I wanted to give them a little more of that soft, glowing sunrise feeling they had envisioned without completely changing the atmosphere of the morning.

So here's a little before & after magic. ✨

I can't promise the weather will cooperate, but I'll always do my best to create a little magic with whatever we're given. 🤍

I was going to wait until tomorrow to share these because it's like *good for the algorithm* and whatever but like....HOW COULD I WAIT?!

This is a direct quote from Mikaela's email to me when she received her gallery:
"Oh my goodness! Just amazing! Thank you so much; they all are wonderful. Can’t even tell that Nora was being a hot mess. You even read my mind taking the picnic table out of image 047! Can’t wait to show Jesse!!"

Working with kids is my specialty, and taking their pictures is my passion! And hey, I dare you to guess which pictures had the picnic tables ;) (there were many!)

**Beauty is everywhere. You just have to find your angle. 🌸**

This field of flowers looks like the perfect little hidden spot, right?

But if I zoomed out just a little, you'd see the reality: a dirt parking lot, cars, and an excavator just a few feet away from us. 😂

And honestly? **That's one of my favorite parts of photography.**

You don't always need the perfect location. You need to know how to *see* the location.

For the moms: when you see a photo that looks like it was taken somewhere magical, remember that you don't necessarily need to find the most beautiful, elaborate location. Sometimes it's about trusting your photographer to find the beauty that's already there.

And for my fellow photographers: **don't be afraid to move.**

Change your angle. Get lower. Get closer. Turn your subject. Use the flowers in the foreground. Find the little pocket of light. Let your lens hide what doesn't belong in the frame.

Because sometimes the difference between “there's an excavator right over there” and “look at this beautiful field” is simply ~ where you choose to stand ~

There is beauty everywhere.

You just have to look for it. 🤎

Whether they have fur, feathers, or hooves, I love including your pets in your maternity and family sessions. They’re part of your story, so they deserve to be part of the photos too.

And yes, I’m always happy to work with the crazy ones, the wiggly ones, and the ones who would rather be anywhere else. 😂

There are so many incredible images that I can’t wait to share from Kerry’s maternity session, but this one just makes me melt. 🤍

The connection Kerry shares with her horse, Paisley, is like no other. The trust, the patience, the understanding, the love. It’s a bond that has been built over time and one that will always be a part of their story.

Soon, Kerry will have a whole new bond to experience with her baby, but that won’t change the special connection she shares with Paisley. I love that this image captures both the excitement of what’s to come and a bond that will always remain. 🤍
