Wizard's Pics A place for me to consolidate my amateur photography hobby. A wide variety of things catch my eye. I try to do my best with composition and lighting.

I'm Paul "Wizard" Folkestad. I've always enjoyed photography, as a hobby. I'm old enough to have been taught how to develop film, in a darkroom. But, with the advent & downward sliding cost of digital cameras, over time... I've crossed over to the dark side, as it were. So many different things catch my eye. ds, guns, animals... pretty eclectic. I don't consider myself an artist, more like a eccentric individual with a camera, who thinks that catching a closeup of a honeybee on a flower is one of the coolest things on the planet. The purpose of this page, is to simply consolidate my hobby photography, apart from my personal/family type stuff. Regarding gear... It runs the gamut, really. Four generations of digital cameras (starting with a Sony Mavica FD92) and 3 cell phones. Most recent stuff is shot with either a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, or a Canon Rebel T3i.

The Memorial Squadron, based at the Livermore (CA) Airport, and a group of volunteer pilots will depart Livermore Airport and over fly Buchanan Field Airport (Concord, CA) at approximately 1:15pm enroute to Travis Air Force Base and the Sacramento Valley National Veteran's Cemetery on Sunday, May 24th. The Memorial Squadron's mission is to honor veterans and veteran charities with flyover support for charity events and holidays.

I was drawn to receive a free flight ($450 Value) on a fully restored Boeing B17G "Flying Fortress". It was "Old 909", owned and operated by the Colling's Foundation and the centerpiece of their annual "Wings of Freedom Tour". It was a thrill of a lifetime to actually get to fly on one of these old warbirds. Odin knows I've loved them forever, lol.

This juvenile Coopers Hawk visits my back yard, on occasion. Been trying to snap it for months and FINALLY got lucky! No sure if it's male of female. Definitely young, as it's only half the size of the adults we see around here.

Finally got the stolen laptop replaced, so I can actually upload pics now. Excited for a new shoot in the near future... and the possibility that it might lead to a new opportunity, for me to realize one of my photography dreams! 📷 🛩ī¸ 🚁 😁😁😁
