"Winter's Embrace"
Our trip to Denali coincided with the season's first return of termination dust (what Alaskan's call snow) to the mountains of the mighty Alaskan Range. Low hanging clouds and fog drifted through all day long and left the mountains with a fresh coating of snow in their wake. I spent much of the day with my telephoto lens mounted on my camera and proceeded to pick out these intimate mountain scenes, which I felt best captured the harsh reality of winter's icy grasp returning to reclaim the landscape for yet another season; an unrelenting battle between the mountains and the severe elements that has been playing out here along the Alaskan Range for eons.
