As a small business owner, I am always looking for ways to raise my visibility to the community. I’ve found it to be a challenge! I’m still figuring out the algorithms of Instagram and Google. I recently discovered that Google Reviews is a large component of determining how and where my business shows up in Google Maps and Google searches. I’m so fortunate to have some great reviews, but I need more.

If you want to show your support in a way that is free, but has meaningful impact, writing a Google Review will help so much! Over the years, I’ve photographed so many seniors, families, couples, newborns, friends, athletes and more! It doesn’t matter when we worked together, reviews will help to raise my visibility online.

Helpful things to include in the review:
* location (name of the city we photographed in or reference to Twin Cities/C**n Rapids/Minneapolis)
* type of photography (senior portraits, wedding, family, newborn, sports, etc.)
* what your experience was like (did you have fun? Did something stand out? Did I help you feel comfortable? Did you feel prepared?)
* Would you recommend me to everyone you know?
* What products do you love? (e.g. albums, high quality prints, wall art, etc.)

Today, I met a couple of my favorite people and their lovely fur kids (dogs) for a quick photo session in a beautiful park. The snow slowly fell while the sun shone on us. I can’t wait to dig into these. How fun!

Take the selfie. I get it, you’re tired, overworked, unhappy with how you look and always saying “next time”. But next time doesn’t always come. There is always an excuse to avoid getting in a photo with our loved ones.

I encourage you to embrace the imperfections and live in the moment. Smile for the snapshot of you and your loved one and forget about needing it to look better. These memories are what will bring a smile to your face when the house is quiet and your calendar is clear.

Scoping out locations is fun when you have a furry co-pilot next to you. Little Luna loves to go with me wherever I go. I went out looking for different flower patches and found some surprising finds in unexpected places. Can’t wait to test them out.

Here are some tips for picking out what to wear. I purposely skipped over some of the basic tips that most photographers highlight (like avoiding neon or graphic T’s, being comfortable, etc.) because I wanted to go a little deeper.

I work closely with each Senior to create a personal plan to ensure wardrobe options pair well with locations for images that pop!
