Shot a maternity session at a lavender field recently and I am still not over it.

It was my first time working in that location and from the second we arrived I knew we were going to walk away with something special.

New places have a way of doing that - they keep me on my toes in the best way.

The Moment That Still Gets Me

The family was together on the bed in their primary bedroom. The toddler was being wonderfully wild, as toddlers are. I was playing peek-a-boo, doing my thing, trying to draw out some smiles. And then the mom leaned in and started playing “this little piggy” on the baby’s tiny toes.

I did not ask her to do that. I did not plan it.

What happened next was one of those things you cannot manufacture. The toddler immediately joined in. Just like that, the two of them were together over that baby, completely absorbed in the moment - and the photos that came from those few seconds were some of the most precious I have ever taken.

That is what I mean when I talk about documenting family connection. It is not a pose. It is a permission slip to just be yourselves, and then staying ready when the magic shows up.

Sweet baby girl 🤍

This lifestyle newborn session was such a dream. She absolutely rocked her entire session, giving us the sweetest little smirks and happily snuggling into her mom and dad every chance she got.

One of my favorite things about newborn sessions isn’t just meeting a brand new baby, it’s watching two people step so naturally into parenthood. The love these two have for their daughter is impossible to miss, and the way they cared for, comforted, and adored her throughout the session was so beautiful to witness.

Baby girl, you are already so deeply loved, and you are incredibly lucky to have these two as your parents. They’re doing an amazing job, and I know your future is filled with so much love, laughter, and support.

From newborn snuggles to a two-year-old full of personality 🤍

One of the greatest gifts of this job is getting to watch families grow. I first met this sweet family when their little one was a newborn, and now here we are celebrating a second birthday milestone session. It feels impossible that so much time has passed.

Being invited back year after year to document these moments is something I never take for granted. Watching babies become toddlers, seeing parents grow into their roles, and preserving each chapter along the way is truly my favorite part of photography.

To all of my returning clients, thank you for trusting me with your memories. It is such an honor to tell your family’s story and watch it unfold through the years.

Hannah & Nick 🤍

Some couples make my job look easy, and these two are definitely one of them.

Their engagement session was everything I love; beautiful scenery, rustic charm, genuine laughter, and so many natural moments together. They were completely comfortable with one another, and it showed in every photograph. The way they look at each other, laugh together, and simply enjoy being in each other’s presence made this session such a joy to capture.

Getting to photograph this season of their lives is so special, but what makes it even better is knowing that I’ll be there this October to document the day they say “I do.”

I already know their wedding day is going to be filled with so much love, joy, and celebration, and I cannot wait to be a part of it. ✨

Sweet Evelyn 🤍

Some sessions leave no doubt about just how deeply a baby is loved, and this was one of them.

From the moment we started, her parents were completely enamored with her. Every little coo, tiny sound, and sweet expression was met with smiles, laughter, and so much adoration. Watching them soak in these moments with their beautiful girl was such a joy to witness.

These early days pass so quickly, but the way they look at her, the way they smile at every little thing she does, and the overwhelming love filling the room are moments worth remembering forever.

The best kind of family sessions are the ones that feel a little wild, a little sandy, and full of genuine moments 🤍

The Guild family’s beach session was chaos in all the best ways. Chasing a busy toddler, keeping baby happy, sandy toes, giggles, cuddles, and all the in-between moments that make this season of life so special.

Family sessions do not have to be perfectly posed to be beautiful. Sometimes the magic is in the movement, the laughter, and the way your kids naturally run back into your arms.

This session was so full of love, fun, and authentic moments, and honestly… those are always my favorite kind ✨

A little hunny turned ONE 🍯

And while the cake smash didn’t exactly go as planned… I think the tiny tears and suspicious looks at the cake made these photos even sweeter 😂

Not every baby loves cake on their hands, and honestly, that’s part of the fun of first birthday sessions. The personalities always shine through, and this little guy kept us laughing the entire time.

Sticky fingers, a few tears, and lots of memories made 💛

Their first baby girl 🤍

This sweet family welcomed baby Eleanor, and watching her big brothers meet and adore their new baby sister was something so incredibly special to witness. The excitement, the curiosity, the gentle cuddles… you could already see just how deeply loved she is.

Fresh 48 sessions will forever have my heart because they capture these first moments exactly as they are. The beginning of a brand new chapter, tiny details that change so quickly, and the overwhelming love filling the room.
