As we get closer to this year's summer vacation, I find myself looking back on some of the adventures we shared last summer. One of the highlights was our trip to San Francisco and Northern California.

Among all the places we visited, one of the coolest was my second trip—and their first—to "The Rock," Alcatraz Island. There's something fascinating about standing on that small island and imagining the stories that unfolded there over the years. Between the history, the views of the bay, and the experience of exploring the old prison, it remains one of the most memorable places I've ever visited.

What made it even more special was getting to experience it through their eyes for the first time. Watching them take it all in reminded me why revisiting places can be just as rewarding as discovering them for the first time.

Summer memories have a way of sticking with you, and this one definitely has. Here's to making a few more this year. ☀️🌉

In the afternoon, My son and I headed out to Oleta River State Park for the maiden voyage of our kayak—and his very first time on the water! 🚣‍♂️

He absolutely loved spotting all the wildlife and was determined to fill the boat with snails and hermit crabs. Along the way, we saw a crowned night heron, little blue herons, barracuda, and so much more. Nature definitely put on a show for us.

The rain eventually snuck up on us, and he wasn't exactly thrilled about the cold downpour, but he powered through it and still had a blast. He even helped me load the kayak back onto the truck in the rain.

Days like these remind me that the best lessons aren't taught—they're experienced. Raising men, one adventure at a time. 💙

I didn’t take these pictures, but I’m absolutely fascinated by them! These are actual NASA satellite images of Earth in the names of my children and myself. Thank you for something truly incredible! Much like my kids, these images are completely out of this world 🌎✨

I decided to have some fun for a good cause this Valentine’s Day! 🖤

At the Northern Spotted Owl Breeding Program (NSOBP), each owl enjoys one rat or two mice every single day. With more than 40 endangered Northern Spotted Owls to feed, that adds up to thousands of rodents every year! Thankfully, our dedicated team raises them on site to ensure high quality meals for our feathered friends.

So while (insert ex’s name here) may have been the worst… they were also extremely nutritious.

Your little act of revenge helped keep the owls full, happy, and healthy. Want to spread some love instead? You can continue supporting the NSOBP by symbolically adopting an owl! 🦉💘
