Twice a month Frankie Schneckloth and I create together for velvetcoat
We shoot in what seems like the perfect spot: natural window light, room for the backdrop and stand and not really in the way- mostly.
Ultimately though, it’s been one of my hardest locations to master for continuity.
The natural light changes constantly, the overhead lights are mixed colors so we had to cut the power, the fill flash needs to keep the natural light look but fill the shadows slightly and also keep the background light.
Most of the goodness is happening in post. Especially the background and the watch tan 😂 IFYKYK
What isn’t difficult or challenging? Photographing Frankie. She’s a dream. She likes fun poses and makes me laugh pretty much the whole session. And of course I would love to own all the clothing and jewelry. She makes modeling look effortless yet we all know it’s work!
We are heading into the fall styles and I’m drooling over all the pieces.

Over 1500 women (and a handful of men too!) sat at attention during the hour where openly and honestly shared her journey of becoming the president of her company.
Her start in her dad’s business selling tires and growing up with a Korean mother who refused to go to bed if the house was dirty.
She glowed as she talked about her soul mate Chip and the decisions they have and continue to make to keep their family first.
She leads by example: no growth for growth’s sake- but to build what you love and do it well and smartly.
She was relatable and she was engaging. Everything you would hope and exactly what our audience needed to hear.
as always kept it real and fun. 🤩 she has a gift for conversation that educates and entertains while making you feel like you are now best friends.
