✝️ **THE WOMAN WHO MADE ÁVILA FAMOUS AROUND THE WORLD**

Her name was **Saint Teresa of Ávila**—a Spanish mystic, writer, reformer, and one of the most important figures in Catholic history.

Born in **Ávila in 1515**, Teresa entered religious life and eventually became a major force in reforming the Carmelite order.

But her life was anything but quiet.

She traveled across Spain founding convents, wrote extensively about **prayer and mystical experiences**, and became famous for her powerful personality and spiritual writings.

She was later declared a **saint** and, in 1970, became the **first woman named a Doctor of the Church**—an extraordinary title recognizing her importance to Catholic theology.

Today, her presence is everywhere in Ávila.

Her birthplace is preserved as a church and convent, and pilgrims and visitors come from around the world to follow her story.

**A medieval city surrounded by walls—and the hometown of one of Spain’s most extraordinary women.** 🇪🇸✝️

**Ávila is more than a fortress. It's the city of Saint Teresa.**

Can a place built out of tragedy still be the coolest thing you've ever filmed? This building exists because 1,200 people died. And somehow, it's also the most fasicinating places I've been in Japan.

I'll go here next..

💧 **7 WATERFALLS. 1 JUNGLE. AND ONE OF THAILAND’S MOST EPIC HIKES.**

Hidden inside **Erawan National Park** in Kanchanaburi, Erawan Falls is a series of **seven cascading waterfalls**, each with its own pools, cliffs, and jungle scenery.

The hike gets progressively more adventurous as you climb higher—crossing rocks, bridges, and forest trails to reach the upper levels.

And the reward?

**Turquoise-blue pools surrounded by thick jungle**, where you can actually swim beneath the waterfalls.

The higher you climb, the fewer people you’ll see.

**Seven levels. Crystal-clear water. Jungle everywhere.**

This is Thailand at its wildest. 🇹🇭💦🌿

🐍 **A 1,000-STEP HIKE TO A CAVE THAT LOOKS LIKE A GIANT SNAKE.**

Hidden deep in the mountains of **Bueng Kan, Thailand**, Naka Cave is one of the country’s strangest natural wonders—and getting there is an adventure in itself.

The hike takes you through dense forest, steep trails, and hundreds of steps before finally reaching the enormous rock formations that give the cave its reputation.

The rocks are covered in patterns that look remarkably like **giant snake scales**.

Local legend says this is connected to the **Naga**, the mythical serpent that has been part of Thai and Mekong-region folklore for centuries.

Geologists have a natural explanation for the unusual formations. But after hiking for hours through the jungle and finally seeing these enormous “scales” up close…

**It’s easy to understand why the legend exists.**

Remote. Exhausting. Mysterious.

**And absolutely worth the climb.** 🐍🇹🇭🥾

🇯🇵 Why I’m really liking Toyosu, Tokyo

I’ve stayed in different parts of Tokyo, but Toyosu might be one of the smartest locations I’ve found.

🎾 Pickleball courts nearby — which is a huge bonus for me.

🚇 A major train station makes getting around Tokyo easy.

🍜 Lots of restaurants within walking distance, including plenty of Japanese food and some more familiar American-style options.

🌊 And then there’s the waterfront. Parks, walking paths, Tokyo Bay views, and a completely different feel from the crowded tourist areas of central Tokyo.

🐟 Toyosu Market is also right here, adding another interesting side to the neighborhood.

What I like most is that I can walk out of my hotel and have food, trains, sports, water, parks and attractions all around me — without being right in the middle of the chaos.

Sometimes the best place to stay in a huge city isn’t the most famous neighborhood.

Toyosu is definitely worth considering. 🇯🇵

🏰 **A CHURCH BUILT INTO A 1,000-YEAR-OLD FORTRESS.**

Ávila, Spain, is unlike almost any other medieval city.

The **Cathedral of Ávila** was literally incorporated into the city’s defensive walls. Part cathedral, part fortress, its massive stone structure helped protect one of Spain’s most important medieval cities.

And surrounding the old city is an enormous defensive system:

🧱 **2.5 kilometers of walls**
🏰 **88 towers**
🚪 **9 monumental gates**
⏳ Built largely in the **11th century**

The cathedral's eastern wall is actually part of the fortifications, making it look less like a traditional church and more like a **military stronghold**.

Imagine being a medieval soldier standing on these walls, watching the countryside for an approaching army.

**This wasn't a castle with a church nearby. The church itself became part of the fortress.**

Nearly 1,000 years later, Ávila still looks ready for battle. 🇪🇸⚔️🏰

🇰🇭 **THIS TEMPLE SITS ON A CLIFF ABOVE THE JUNGLE—RIGHT ON THE THAILAND–CAMBODIA BORDER.**

When the mist rolls into **Preah Vihear**, the ancient Khmer temple almost disappears into the clouds.

Built over centuries by the **Khmer Empire**, the temple stretches along a dramatic mountain ridge more than **500 meters above the surrounding plains**.

And the location is what makes it truly epic.

🏛️ **1,000+ years of history**
⛰️ **Massive cliffside setting**
🌫️ **Mist and clouds rolling through the ruins**
🌴 **Jungle stretching for miles below**
🇹🇭🇰🇭 **A location tied to a long-running Thailand–Cambodia border dispute**

This isn't a temple you simply walk up to.

**You climb toward it—and suddenly you're standing above the clouds, surrounded by ruins built more than a thousand years ago.**

Remote. Dramatic. Ancient.

**Preah Vihear is one of Southeast Asia's great hidden temples.** 🇰🇭🌫️⛰️

🐍 **DID THAILAND TURN A GIANT SNAKE INTO STONE?**

Deep in the forests of **Bueng Kan, Thailand**, lies one of the strangest natural formations in Southeast Asia.

**Naka Cave** is covered with enormous rock patterns that look remarkably like the scales of a giant serpent.

Local legend says the cave is connected to the **Naga**—mythical serpent beings believed to inhabit the Mekong River and a hidden underwater world.

Science has an explanation: millions of years of geological weathering created the unusual patterns.

But standing inside the cave, surrounded by massive stone “scales,” it’s easy to see why people connected this place to the legendary Naga.

**Myth, geology, or something that still feels impossible?**

You have to see it for yourself. 🐉🇹🇭
