On Memorial Day we honor & remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

On momentous days such as these I find it hard to find the right words.

So I often refer to what other people have said.

I think this quote by Ronald Reagan sums up much of what I want to say on Memorial Day.

“There is a special sadness that accompanies the death of a serviceman, for we’re never quite good enough to them-not really; we can’t be, because what they gave us is beyond our powers to repay. And so, when a serviceman dies, it’s a tear in the fabric, a break in the whole, and all we can do is remember.

It is, in a way, an odd thing to honor those who died in defense of our country, in defense of us, in wars far away. The imagination plays a trick. We see these soldiers in our mind as old and wise. We see them as something like the Founding Fathers, grave and gray haired. But most of them were boys when they died, and they gave up two lives — the one they were living and the one they would have lived. When they died, they gave up their chance to be husbands and fathers and grandfathers. They gave up their chance to be revered old men. They gave up everything for our country, for us. And all we can do is remember.

There’s always someone who is remembering for us. No matter what time of year it is or what time of day, there are always people who come to this cemetery, leave a flag or a flower or a little rock on a headstone”

⚡️ Debating whether or not to hire a homecoming photographer? Here are four reasons to hire one. ⚡️

📸 Preserve the moment! So you can relieve it again and again! If your loved one is deploying again you can use it as a reminder of the light at the end of the tunnel. If this is there only deployment it can serve as a reminder of an incredibly happy day and all you have accomplished.

📸 Relieve the stress and anxiety about capturing the moment. It’s true you can have a friend take the photos or a fellow military spouse. You can even take the photos yourself. But trust me when I say it’s much more relaxing to have someone else do it for you. It is one less thing for you to have to worry about.

📸 So you can share the moment with your friends and family! Military life can be hard to talk about or explain to those

📸 To celebrate the high points. Military life comes with plenty of ups and downs and curve balls. If there is one thing I have learned it is that you need to celebrate it all!

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day to all the amazing military spouses out there.

Military life is on big adventure, filled with a multitude of curveballs, highs and lows. I have often found it hard to describe what it’s like to be a military spouse. These are two quotes/ poems that I think sum it up well.

I will always be grateful for all the military spouses I have met both through my work and through my husbands military career. They are some of the strongest, toughest, most resilient people I have ever met. And I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

💫“You are going to miss this!” 💫

Something I try to remind myself everyday.

Military life isn’t always easy. It’s hard moving frequently, having your other half gone all the time & keeping weird hours when they are home. But it’s not all bad. There are so many things I am grateful for. So many places I have now visited/ lived that I never would have, if it weren’t for the Navy. So many people I have met, friends I have made. Extra time visiting with Family & Friends while Phil is away.

I have learned to love this adventure. (Even when there are days that I strongly dislike it).

It’s been my goal to focus on the now, instead of wanting to fast forward through this chapter. Looking forward only to homecoming or when we get out. Celebrating the little joys because I know one day I will miss this!

This job has helped me embrace and love this chapter! And I couldn’t be more grateful that people trust me to capture important moments like this one!
