On Friday, January 9th, I joined a fantastic crowd to celebrate local heroes, including four deputies from the Montezuma County Sheriff’s Office who were recognized among the 15 honorees.

Please join me in congratulating them:

🏆 Life-Saving Award
Detentions Sergeant Gardner and Deputies Cayden Worcester, Justin Lewis, and Tristen Harris were honored for their quick thinking and decisive action. Their efforts saved the life of an inmate suffering a serious head injury during a seizure.

🏆 Distinguished Service Award
A special shout-out to Detentions Deputy Justin Lewis, who also took home a service award! He was recognized for his reliability and willingness to go above and beyond to cover shifts for his team.
