These self portraits include 2 of my absolute favorite things. Papaya is my favorite fruit and I would live in the pool if I could.

One thing you wouldn’t know by looking at these is I did these self portraits at 9am in the beginning of May and I was actually freezing the entire time. I also always find self portraits in the water more challenging trying to get the best camera angles.

What is one thing holding you back from taking self portraits?? 📸✨

8 tips to get the best photos while staying safe! 👇

✨When you first ignite a smoke bomb, it’s normal for sparks to fly so you’ll want to point it away from yourself.

✨Also wouldn’t recommend using in a super dry area because it could start a fire.

✨Keep a bucket of water nearby to cool it down if it gets too hot. And to cool off once you’re done.

✨Don’t use them on a windy day. The smoke disappears so quickly it will just be a waste.

✨Have your subject move the smoke bomb slowly. This gives the smoke time to build up and creates a much fuller, dreamier effect.

✨Plan your poses + composition before lighting it. Smoke bombs burn fast, so you’ll want to be ready!

✨A high shutter speed will capture all the detail in the smoke I’d recommend 1/400 however a low shutter speed will give it a hazy dreamy effect so don’t be afraid to experiment.

✨Be aware that the colored dye can stain clothing and skin.
