I had not taken any pictures of hummingbirds this summer so I had to sit out on the deck and see what I could get.

This male is about the only hummingbird I've seen at our feeder this year. It took him some time to get used to my setup, but he finally came in and gave several good shots.

Is it just me, or does there appear to be fewer hummingbirds this year?? It could just be my location I suppose...

Guess who got some new gear and made his cat participate in the testing of it 😆

Lovina makes such a great little model. She is slightly less scared of things than Toby and Sullivan. None of the animals cared for the smoke! I think they have gotten used to me flashing soft boxes at them though. Except Toby, he thinks it's lightening and runs away :(

The new gear is a Flash Bender V3 and a Smoke Ninja. Both of which were used to capture this image.

Cincinnati's City Hall building was built in 1893 and It is perhaps one of the most amazing city halls I've ever seen. I had the privilege of attending the 1613 Men's Conference in Cincinnati this past weekend and made a little time to wonder around the city.

Not every photograph is a masterpiece. I was attempting to do some light painting with a fiber optic light brush. The ghosting in the image is me moving through the long exposure. In the background you see the lights of Gatlinburg Tn and Piegeon Forge beyond that. Kuwohi had rolling banks of clouds moving over it which killed our plans for star gazing and some pictures with my daughter's new telescope camera.

Mistakes were made, but so were some images and I count that as a win.
