Meet Blake (25) and Leslie (26) — two complete opposites meeting for the very first time… right in front of my camera.

Blake is all personality, the kind of guy who’s never met a stranger. Leslie is quiet, reserved, and takes her time warming up. But together? They shared belly laughs, soft moments, and more than a few smooches.

Leslie walked into this session nervous, stepping way outside her comfort zone. Life hands us some tough cards sometimes, and choosing to show up anyway is its own kind of bravery. I stumbled across a post from an author with a photo of a couple on a bike. Stated she’s been inspired to write an entire book because Stranger Sessions keep popping up on her feed and the unknown endings are driving her crazy. Relatable right? 😜.

And here’s the wild full‑circle part:
Years ago, this Stranger Session image of mine was actually licensed by a USA Today & Wall Street Journal best‑selling author to use as a book cover. 😍

Photographers, I’ve been hosting Stranger Sessions successfully for over six years now. In the first 3–4 years alone, my work made national news multiple times, I sat for countless interviews, and yes, my images are still stolen on a weekly basis. PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR CLIENTS!!!

As these sessions have grown in popularity, I want to share a few things with you. A few years ago, another photographer copied my entire business model. Took my application, my website, word for word, and turned it into a paid “how‑to” guide to profit off of. So naturally, I made my own… and I made it free.

With all the questions I get on how to host these sessions, I think you’ll find this guide and these tips incredibly helpful for hosting successful Stranger Sessions. Just remember: the only way to truly succeed with them is to host them for the right reasons.
