consider this your sign to make your elopement plans a little more unhinged

Jules + Jacob hiked a mile into the mountains with their pup India, got married, sat on a bridge and ate lunch, shotgunned a b**r, and hiked their married hineys right back out.

Then we ended the night at Napper Tandy’s where they had their first dance and played pool :’)

I think sometimes people get so caught up in what they’re supposed to do when they elope that they forget you can literally just… do whatever sounds fun to you.

You wanna hike to your ceremony? Let’s go. 🥾

Bring your dog? Obviously.🐾

Go to a pub in your wedding clothes afterward? PLEASE. 🍻

Your elopement doesn’t need to be elaborate to be a really good day!!

adding Gold Mountain Ranch to the list of places I will never shut up about 🤌🏼

because excuse me??? you can get married overlooking the San Juans, have up to 12 of your favorite people there with you, AND stay right on the property??

this little spot is tucked away in Ouray, Colorado and might genuinely be one of my favorite intimate wedding venues I’ve photographed at. it gives you all the privacy and insane mountain views you want from an elopement, but you can still have the florals, the dinner setup, the ch*****ne, the cake, and a few of your favorite people there to celebrate with you.

basically… if you’ve been looking at Ouray for your elopement, put this one on your list immediately.

and selfishly, please hire me to come back because I need approximately 100 more elopements here. 😂

What does 6 hours of elopement coverage even look like??

Madison + Travis spent the first part of their day getting ready with their family, had a private moment together before their ceremony, and then we headed into the mountains where they got MARRIEDDDD 🥹

Afterwards, we basically just spent the rest of the evening exploring Crested Butte, hanging out with the horses, and taking photos until our time together was up.

I think sometimes people hear “6 hour elopement” and think that sounds like sooo much time, but it goes by SO fast.

You’re not taking photos for 6 hours straight lol. You’re actually getting to enjoy your wedding day, spend time with your people, drive to different locations, take breaks, and have time for all the little moments in between.

And your timeline can literally look however you want it to.

This is just one example of what 6 hours can look like in Crested Butte 🤍

turns out, the weather you’re stressing about might just be the thing that makes your photos THIS good. 🥹🍂

leading up to amber + kelvin’s elopement, there was a looooot of talk about the weather. rain was in the forecast, it was going to be cold, and understandably, amber was stressed about what that meant for the day she had been dreaming about.

until she decided… screw it. we’re embracing it.

and THANK GOD SHE DID.

we off-roaded up Cinnamon Pass to their ceremony spot, surrounded by the most insane fall colors, fog rolling through the mountains, and yep — a little rain. it was literally 47 degrees outside and somehow none of us cared because LOOK AT THESE PHOTOS???

the rain didn’t ruin their day.
the fog didn’t ruin their views.
the cold didn’t ruin the experience.

if anything, it made the entire day feel even more like them — wild, cozy, adventurous, and a little bit magical.

proof that you don’t need perfect weather to have the perfect elopement day. sometimes you just need to say “welp, let’s do it anyway” and let the mountains do their thing. 🤎

amber + kelvin, you two were a freaking DREAM.

and respectfully… rainy fall elopements can stay forever. 🍂🌧️

consider this your sign to stop planning a wedding and start planning a really freaking good day.

Mallorie + Lane had the most perfect fall elopement in Crested Butte. They tied the knot at Irwin Lake, and afterwards we spent the day traveling all over Kebler Pass, leaf peeping and taking photos anywhere we found a good patch of fall colors.

They rented a Land Cruiser for the trip, and when I saw it parked next to my Tacoma I obviously couldn’t resist taking a photo because… Toyota commercial??? 😂

We finished the night back in Crested Butte with dinner at Secret Stash Pizza, which honestly feels like the perfect way to end an elopement day.

No crazy schedule. Just exploring the mountains, taking in the fall colors, getting married, and eating pizza with your best friend.

It was the most perfect day ever. 🥹🍂

And if this just convinced you to elope in Crested Butte next fall… that’s where I come in. 🤭

olivia + matt planned this entire wedding in THIRTY DAYS. 🤯

yes. thirty.

olivia found her dress on stillwhite and somehow it fit like it was literally made for her. they chose to get married at mountain of the holy cross in vail, a place that already held so much of their story. it’s where matt proposed, where they’ve taken family photos, and now, where they got married. 🥹

but maybe my favorite part?

40 of their people booked flights and made their way to colorado with basically a month’s notice.

if that doesn’t tell you how deeply loved these two are, i don’t know what does.

their whole day felt like proof that you don’t need a year+ of planning to create a wedding that feels intentional, beautiful, and completely you.

sometimes you just pick the place you love, gather the people you can’t imagine doing it without, and freaking do it. 🤍

katie + justin’s telluride elopement was basically one giant “wait, are we really doing this?!” moment 🥹

we laughed nonstop. we off-roaded our way into the mountains. we ate cake. we watched the mountains turn GOLD. and somewhere between all the chaos and giggling, these two got married. 🤍

this is exactly what i love about elopements. your wedding day doesn’t have to feel like a production. it can just feel like you two having the absolute best day together… except you happen to be wearing wedding clothes in the middle of the mountains.

katie + justin, i would relive this day with you guys 100 times. 🥹
