Pre-scripted vows, personal vows, or both? No matter which you choose, vows are usually a pivotal point of any wedding ceremony.
We always encourage our wedding couples to write their own vows, and hereâs why: vows should go beyond confessing your love. Theyâre a chance to make real promises to each other, not just say how you feel.
Read them out loud in front of everyone, or save them for a quiet exchange between just the two of you, either way works.
The best vows push you both to show up as the best version of yourselves, for each other and on your own.
If youâre not sure where to start, you can tell a specific story that encapsulates your relationship as a gold standard, or a habit you already love and want to continue. You can always start with one promise you want to keep, and go from there.
