There’s something so special about being invited to document the first hours of a baby’s life.

Maybe it means so much to me because every fresh 48 session brings me right back to the days I gave birth to my own babies — those hazy, tender hours when everything felt new, time seemed to stand still, and I could hardly believe the tiny person I had been waiting for was finally in my arms.

The sleepy snuggles.
The tiny fingers.
The brand-new baby smell.
The way a new mama looks at her baby for the very first time.

These are the moments you think you’ll remember forever, but somehow, they become a little blurry with time.

Getting to preserve them for other families is such an honor. I know just how quickly these days become memories, and I’ll never take it for granted that I get to help families hold onto them forever.

I’ve been seeing the conversations within the photography community surrounding AI, children’s images, and what it means to share our work online. I’ve taken some time to really think about where I stand, and I wanted to share that with you.

I will continue sharing images of the beautiful families and children I’m trusted to photograph as I always have—with permission.

I completely understand and respect the families and photographers who have chosen differently. The way technology is evolving can feel unsettling, and I believe every parent should have the freedom to decide what feels right for their own family.

For me, sharing my work is also an important part of my business. My photographs allow you to see the way I document connection, personality, motherhood, childhood, and all of those little moments you never want to forget.

With that said, your comfort will always come first.

There is no explanation needed and no hard feelings if you choose not to have your session shared. If you’re comfortable with me sharing, but would prefer certain images or more privacy around your child, I’m always happy to honor that, too.

And if an image I’ve shared in the past is no longer something you’re comfortable with, please reach out. I will always respect your wishes.

I’ll continue photographing the little faces, personalities, milestones, and in-between moments that make your family yours—and I’ll continue sharing that work when you’re comfortable with me doing so.

There isn’t a perfect answer for navigating the ever changing world of technology. For me, right now, this is the decision that feels right for my business while still giving every family complete control over whether their images are shared.

Your babies. Your memories. Your choice. Always. 🤍

Back to Homeschool Portraits 📔📝✨

There’s something so special about documenting the little years—the growing, the learning, the changing, and all the little details you’ll one day wish you could remember.

I’m offering a morning of homeschool portrait sessions for families who want to keep the tradition of yearly school pictures, while creating them in a simple, timeless studio setting.

Think 3-5 classic school portraits with a little more warmth and intention—photographs that beautifully capture who they are this year.

Cost: $30 per student ($35 if booked on a different date)
Tuesday, September 1st
10AM–12PM
505 E Taylor Street, Creston, Iowa

Perfect for homeschool families who want a yearly portrait to mark each new chapter of their children’s childhood.

Limited sessions available. Message me to reserve your spot!

Branding sessions have quickly become one of my favorite ways to tell a business’s story.

I had the joy of photographing the incredible team at R Beauty—a group of women I’ve had the privilege of working alongside at multiple weddings. Their talent, heart, and passion for serving their clients is evident in everything they do.

MaKenzi, Devon, Cassie, and Kenna, thank you for trusting me to bring your vision to life. Creating something classic, elevated, and true to your brand was such an honor. đź–¤
