Sarah Grote Photography Lifestyle, equine, and nature photographer in central Connecticut Sarah Grote is an award-winning photographer, painter, and author.

Her work has been accepted into galleries, juried shows, and museums, including those at the Art Center East, Art League of New Britain (ALNB), Association of Media Photographers (ASMP), Connecticut Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA+), Connecticut Women Artists (CWA), Equus Film and Art Fest, Essex Art Association Gallery (EAA), Gallery 53, Gallery 66, Hartford ArtSpace Gallery, Hygienic Art, Joy of Art!

at HFSC, the Lockwood-Mathews Mansion Museum, Lyme Art Association (LAA), the Mark Twain Library, the Mattatuck Museum, The Monastery Gallery of Art, Mystic Museum of Art, Rhode Island Center for Photographic Arts, Rowayton Art Center, Shoreline Arts Alliance, Slater Memorial Museum, Spectrum Gallery, the West Hartford Art League, The William Benton Museum of Art, and WORKSPACE Manchester. Sarah is the Gallery Director at Essex Art Association, managing exhibitions, artist relations, and public engagement. She is the Vice President, Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue, leading fundraising, public relations, and capital campaigns. She is the Administrator of the Essex Board of Trade (EssexCT.com), supporting local businesses and promoting community events. Most recently, she was elected to President of Connecticut Women Artists, Inc. She is currently a member of CAFA, CWA, EAA, Gallery 53, LAA, the Mattatuck Museum, and NBMAA. Her photos have been selected for the Connecticut Horse Magazine covers and articles, and she was chosen as a top equine artist in that publication in 2015. In 2022, Sarah wrote “Journey of the Dream Team”, a book that chronicles the lives of Spencer and Oliver, two Percherons rescued by the CDHR. Her work received the WINNIE award for Literary - Rescue Books at the EQUUS Film Festival in 2023. Her book collaboration with author Andrea Steele, titled "Saved: Equine Rescues of Connecticut", was published in 2024.
