My print shop opens with limited edition prints for the first time this year, in just 6 days - from October 9 - 23.

My collection, Metamorphosis debuted this spring, exploring the four elements—earth, air, fire, and water. These works are designed to invoke protection on physical, energetic, and spiritual levels.

This piece titled, ‘Interconnection’ is inspired by renewal and the present moment of connecting.

The narrative unfolds as individual butterflies emerge, each representing a unique stage of evolution. The red peacock, red admiral, and scarlet peacock butterflies become symbolic manifestations of this metamorphic journey.

The warm and vibrant color palette of this composition includes red and yellow, evoking feelings of love as well as confidence, where a visual language unfolds associated with matters of the heart creating a harmonious balance.

“Interconnection” is a visual poem, where colors and symbols come together to tell a story of transformation.

The launch of my latest collection of botanical pigments will be available in my shop this Wednesday, 6/12.

Over the past 8 months, I have been experimenting with an array of artisanal teas, coffees, spices, flower petals, and roots, exploring the delicate gradients and textures that emerge from these raw materials. As a lover of nature, I am deeply influenced by the seasonal changes in our environment and have endeavored to fully utilize botanicals so as to create a process that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also imbues a sense of tranquility while invigorating the senses.

The pigments naturally dry in the sunlight, following the inherent Taoist philosophy of Wu-Wei, or effortless action, which guides my artistic journey. Embracing this effortless approach allows me to unlock the boundless flow of creativity. Each pigment layer represents a step towards discovering inner peace and listening to nature’s call.

The collection is presented as floating canvases that frame the raw edges of the pigmented fabric. The anti-reflective glass used ensures that the artworks can be appreciated from every angle.

I’m a visual artist based in Los Angeles, California. Throughout my life, I’ve studied various forms of theater and dance. This has greatly impacted how I see the world.

My body of work ranges from performance with Bad Unkl Sista (2009-2016) to collaborating with Remix Culture as a photographer and video artist (2013-2016), to founding New Class Mural; a public art project teaching photography and building large-scale murals (2016-current). In 2014, Hatim Belyamani and I filmed our travels on a road trip; 9 states in 9 days titled ‘Cross Country Impressions’. This film, edited by Hatim, combines the beauty of nature with a live improvised soundtrack, recorded in Brooklyn, NY by Tyler Wood, Derek Nievergelt, Karlie Bruce, Eliot Krimsky and Hatim Belyamani. This film was shown at The Earth Day Film Festival in San Francisco, California on April 18, 2015 and can be seen here. I worked with Mark Reinfeld and Jennifer Murray to produce photographs for their recipes published in a cookbook called, Taste of the East. This book was published in 2010.
