Okay, I’m not going to lie.

The first five minutes might be a little awkward. 😂

You’re meeting a photographer, I’m pointing a camera at you, I’m telling you to turn your shoulders approximately three inches and you’re probably thinking, What am I supposed to do with that information?

And then something happens.

You loosen up. We start talking. You start laughing. You stop thinking about the camera.

And suddenly it doesn’t feel like you’re “posing for pictures” anymore.

You’re just having fun.

That’s my favorite part.

Can I say something about senior session outfits? You really don’t need to spend three weeks on Pinterest trying to figure out what looks like a “senior picture outfit.” 😂

I’d much rather see you in something you actually love wearing.

The jeans you always reach for. The sweater you feel good in. The dress you put on and immediately feel a little more confident.

Because if you’re uncomfortable, I’m going to see it. And honestly, I’d take a senior who feels amazing in a simple outfit over someone who’s uncomfortable in the most Pinterest-worthy outfit ever.

Wear what feels like you. That’s always going to photograph better.

September is kind of funny.

All summer, senior year feels like this thing that’s coming. Then suddenly school starts and you’re like… Oh. We’re actually doing this. 😂

The schedules get crazy, sports are back, activities start piling up, college stuff starts creeping in, and suddenly graduation doesn’t feel quite so far away.

It’s such a weird season because you’re excited for what’s coming, but you’re also realizing just how quickly everything is changing.

And honestly? That’s one of my favorite things about senior year.

A lake, a sunset, your favorite guitar, and a whole lot of “yeah, this feels like me.”

This is exactly why I love when seniors bring their hobbies and personality into their sessions. Your senior photos should look like you, not a Pinterest board. 😂

So bring the guitar. Bring the car. Bring the dog. Bring whatever makes you you. 🤍

Fall has a funny way of sneaking up on us.

One minute we’re saying, “We have plenty of time,” and the next the leaves are gone, everyone’s wearing coats, and we’re wondering where October went. 😂

So if you’ve been thinking about getting those fall photos done, don’t wait too long. This season really does go by that fast.

Okay, but can we talk about how underrated studio sessions are? 👀 I feel like they don’t get nearly enough credit.

You don’t have to worry about the weather changing, the wind messing up your hair, bugs flying around, or trying to squeeze everything in before the sun disappears. 😂 We can just relax, have some fun, and let the photos happen.

Honestly, there’s something really nice about keeping it simple. Good light, a comfortable space, and a session that feels like you.

Studio sessions deserve a little more love. Just saying. 🤷‍♀️

I love when seniors bring their dogs along. They’re part of the family, they’re part of the story, and honestly, they usually steal at least a few pictures.

So yes, bring your dog to your session. I fully support it. 🤍
