I’ve been sitting and trying to think of a caption for 10 minutes.
Pondering what’s a good catch. What’s gonna stop the scroll.
But then I caught myself thinking those thoughts and shut it down and started writing.
I didn’t sign up to be a content creator. I haven’t captured thousands of memories just to find a catchy way to grab people’s attention.
I was entrusted with somebody’s most prized possessions, over and over again. And I did that because I am in love with being human is. The reality of it all.
Messy homes, where the kitchen is a disaster but dinner was fantastic.
Belly laughs that rarely are audible until it bursts out of you.
Smiles and jokes, and tears and authenticity.
I sighed up to be a keeper of memories. A historian. Someone who categorizes pieces of human history that can be displayed in your own home. Till you have a museum of an entire lifetime.
I signed up to be an artist.
Not to use my creative energy towards how to sell my packages or prove I’m worthy of hiring based off my instagram following.
So instead I wrote this. I didn’t write with the intention of selling. I didn’t think about who’s going to read this or even if anyone will.
But I put my beliefs and thoughts into words that describe what it feels like to hold so much honor to be even the smallest piece in memory preservation.
