So thankful…. These are some of my favorite shots I have taken throughout these years. I am so thankful today for the peace I find in photography. For my amazing son, Jake. He is a loving and kind young man. For my beautiful daughter, .hamm07 even though we do not have the best of relationships I am so proud of her and the kind, helpful, and caring woman she has become. For my two sons and . Even though they are my sons by marriage they will always be my sons. And I will always support and love these boys. I am thankful for my grandson Adam. His joy and laughter will melt your heart. And lastly I am so thankful for my wife .mhamm. I have shared her photo at the end of this series. You have been my biggest support system. Pushing me to be a better father, husband and man. You will always be the love of my life.

“Bald Baby”

I had the pleasure of shooting with about a week ago. Our intention was to capture a couple of Barn Owls. But those cheeky buggers didn’t want to wake up. After a hike around the lake, we found a couple of juvenile Bald Eagles. That did not mind a photo opportunity. The rising sun illuminated this guy in all his majesty.

I think I found a new habit. Photographing landscapes has taught me to slow down. But with wildlife photography you must have patience. Standing in the cold for hours waiting and waiting and waiting. Sometimes often wanting to give up. Then boom you are rewarded with some amazing subjects.

“Road to Riches”

The Million Dollar Road is not for the faint of heart. At times the road is mere inches from the edge. I remember the first time I drove this road. White knuckled and hugging the yellow line. Once you make it past the canyon’s shear drop offs, the terrain is unlike any other in the state. The San Juan’s offers more than majestic views. It offers history of this amazing country. Have you ever experienced the Million Dollar Highway or visited the San Juan Mountains?

“Autumn Watchtown”

Chasing fall colors in the San Juan’s was nothing short of incredible. 9 days overlanding and chasing skies and colors. This trip was a much needed break. This past year has been a struggle for me mentally and physically. And at times I wanted to give up. I lost touch with who I was and what I was doing in life. But this trip brought it all back to reality. And grounded me in ways I could never explain.
