Yesterday was my sisters birthday. My smart, talented, incredible intellect, teacher, mother, wife, sister. She died in 2016 right after I arrived in France for my sabbatical. I wanted to bring her with me but she was ill. So young. So unfair. I miss her everyday. I imagine her by my side as I travel and adventure. Her loss was why I stayed in France. Life is short. Let’s make the most of it!!

Last night, in Paris, on the way home from a dance, every bar was ready for the World Cup in Boston. In my apartment I could hear the cheering with every goal so I joined in at midnight for the last moments of excitement. After I left, I could still hear the beeping cars and shouts of joy. The city was alive!!!

My baby, my second child, my girl, all grown up.
Today is her birthday and I hardly recognize her.
She is talented, gifted, independent, caring, smart, conscientious, loving, confident, and a wonderful friend.
We talk, we share, we reminisce, and we confide.
One never knows what we will get when we hold this precious new life in our arms for the first time but today I can say Olivia is truly a pride and joy for me, my family and her friends. I sing her praises while singing Happy Birthday.

Happy July 4. Busy, yes that’s me. Always busy. But with a break up that I’m trying to understand and some serious health issues that I have cured, I just stopped posting. But I am back. I’ll start by sharing this lovely weekend in Langeais, 3 hours from Paris in the Loire Valley. A darling town and just outside an old home in the forest turned into an event venue. I came with a friend from Munich. Always better to have a buddy at a dance. The last photo is a lovely dancer from Sydney, Australia. People travel everywhere for tango.

Last night at midnight, with windows open, preparing myself for bed, I heard the cheers of the Parisians routing for their team. I couldn’t resist. I rushed out to see what was happening. Met a fun young man, three guys from the north of Spain and enjoyed the cry of success.
