You may or may not have seen me talk about The Creative Table lately… a photography group I started to gradually build community in a place where I felt it was lacking… where I was lacking!!

Photography can be a lonely, so in The Creative Table, I try to offset that with a $5/month membership for:
•monthly styled shoots (no extra fees)
•coffee meetups
•job postings
•collaboration opportunities
•quarterly headshot updates
•education and business resources

Annnnnd my coaching students get it for free for ALWAYS!

We’re only 2 styled shoots in (and it’s been SOOO fun!!), but we ALSO have our first cameras and coffee event on May 1st where we’ll meet for coffee and then walk the block to where I’ll do updated headshots for everyone! You are not behind…. You are not lacking… you’re just on your OWN journey. You can’t compare yourself to the woman next to you by saying, “Well, she can do it.. why can’t I?” That is the comparison trap and it will ROB you of your joy. Sure, she’s been doing it for less time than you, but maybe her support system looks different? Does she have kids, or does she get to use 2 hands to work all the time?… If you’re you’re wishing you were further ahead, you’re probably living in an answered prayer.. take a minute to slow down and show gratitude for where you ARE. It’s fortifying you for where you’re going!

With summer weddings on the horizon, I’m thinking about the love stories I’ve been honored to capture. I’m balancing a full plate (who isn’t?!) motherhood, school, business.. but every bride I work with gets my WHOLE heart. I’ve got just a few wedding spots left for this fall, and I’m ready to make them unforgettable. Let’s create something timeless-to-you!!

Networking isn’t dead… we just stopped doing it in real life.

And I don’t think we realized what we were trading when that happened.

Somewhere along the way, we replaced actual connection with content.
We started thinking being seen was the same thing as being known.

It’s not.

You can have a full feed, good engagement, people who recognize your work…
and still feel like you’re doing this alone.

Because commenting on each other’s posts is not the same as sitting across from someone and actually talking.
Following each other is not the same as showing up.
And visibility will never replace trust.

The people who stay booked, who don’t spiral in slow seasons, who get referred without asking…
they’re not just good at marketing.

They’re connected.

They’ve built real relationships.
The kind that exist off the app.
The kind that actually hold weight.

It’s slower.
It’s less convenient.
It won’t always “convert.”

But it works.

And I think a lot of us are starting to feel that again… like we want something more real than just another online circle.

“what can you do with what you have?”

A question The Lord’s been pressing on my heart a lot lately… and I’m not just talking about how I used a backdrop in my garage for this shoot instead of a studio 🤣

I mean… I have about 3 hours a day MAX I can work or do school right now. So how will I steward that well?

I have coaching students and wedding clients that I’m taking care of RIGHT NOW. So instead of chasing a “dream client,” I’m returning to the place of stewarding well what I’ve been given. The work, the home, the kids, education, clients, business… what we’re “lacking” is constantly being flashed in front of us, but in reality, we have so much.

And today… especially today. I am grateful 🥹

I know Instagram has best practices for how to go viral and for people to engage with your content… But this post isn’t written with the intention of going viral… I’m hoping to connect to even one woman who is juggling the same things as I am internally today…

I remember this day like it was yesterday. Colorado, the kind of light you don’t forget, a ceremony that felt quiet and full all at once. Everything about it was so good, and I was so TIRED. my husband and I had just come off a wedding in Austin two days before, running on adrenaline and early mornings and the kind of exhaustion you almost wear like a badge of honor. And now it’s a different kind of tired. The kind that lives in your body, the kind that doesn’t clock out, the kind that comes with tiny hands and interrupted sleep and a life that isn’t your own anymore in the most beautiful way.

I used to pray for double header weekends, and now I pray for a full night of sleep, even if it doesn’t come. And somehow I love this work just as much as I did then, but what fuels it has changed. It’s not about building something impressive or being seen or known or keeping up. It’s about building something intentional and legacy-minded, something my kids can look at one day and see that you can create and serve and care so so deeply without losing what matters most.

I don’t assume that they’ll one day want to take over “Grace Cacho Photography.” But hopefully they will see that their mama was doing everything she could to stay fully present and still being the hands and feet of Jesus no matter what she was doing… And then they’ll know that they can do both too.

I will die on this hill… engagement photos have to feel like YOUUUUUUU. That may be a field with tall grass or maybe a quick trip to the diner for shakes and fries!

Whatever your ideal date might be, let, I’m more than happy to be your 3rd wheel!!!

I’ll give you a mix of posed smiles and whimsical movement… We’ll feel like besties at the end!

I’ve spent the last 6 years being passive about community and collaboration in my business, and this is what I’m doing to change it…

If you’ve been around for a minute, you know .design and I are starting a podcast called where we talk about creative entrepreneurship and business ownership, but that is only the start.

Beyond that dialogue, I have been craving creative community unlike other things that I’ve seen… *insert The Creative Table… an online community and hub to cultivate noncompetitive collabs and in-person connection.

•The Creative Table for all Creatives is a Facebook Group with all different kind of female creative entrepreneurs.
•The Creative Table: For Photographers is a private community specifically for photographers to connect, collaborate, and have the opportunity to participate in education and portfolio-building events for just $5/month. No upselling… just community, here friends 🥹
