Becoming a Filmmaker

Over the past 7 years I have made well over 1,000 videos for myself and others.

I have made commercials, created wedding films, shot big events, shot big artists like 2 Chainz, even filmed and edited a short film called “The Splurge” that ended up in the top 5 in the U.S in a short film contest by Regal Films.

I have made over 700 vlogs about my own life, for several years I made videos out of pure passion with a $300 camera, I mean hundreds of them. I lived out of a small spare bedroom up stairs at my dad’s house, filming and editing videos for myself and others. I would work 12-16 hours some days, just coming up with ideas and then creating them. While others my age were going out, I was working, for years, in a small room, by myself, dreaming, creating, learning, growing.

Get a Real Job!!!

At some point, friends of mine started telling me, “put down the camera and get a real job.”

Needless to say, that was frustrating but for me it was either make it as a creative entrepreneur or nothing. In 2018, after working my butt off for years, I decided to make the push, up my rates, invest in a better camera and push for a full time career as a filmmaker.

Within 3 months of making that decision I was able to get a nice apartment and become fully financially independent as a creative entrepreneur.

This didn't happen overnight, it took several years and several hundreds of videos to find out how to market myself and go full time, it wasn’t easy and at times I wanted to quit. I have worked very hard over the past 7 years to learn, grow and bring the most polished video production possible with every single client that books Jordan Films.

This is my process for wedding films!

Talk to you, find out what you want out of your wedding film, what shots are important to you, what music you want, what your goals are for the film and book you in!

After you’re booked in we will go over the key shots, songs and flow of your wedding film one more time to ensure that you’re getting the wedding film that you want, after all, your paying a-lot of money for a very important video, it needs to be done right.

On wedding day I will arrive a few hours early to shoot the location, get setup and meet the staff at the venue. Once people begin to arrive I will coordinate with the photographer and begin shooting the important stuff!

When the DJ arrives, I will coordinate to ensure we’re staying on-top of things, different DJs will create different day flows, so coordination and communication are key.

Once your wedding day is wrapped, I will be giving out lots of hugs and just generally congratulating you guys because, well, you just concluded one of the most important days of your life, you deserve it!

The edit will take me between 2-5 days depending on the tier wedding film you booked, you can expect final delivery between 1-2 weeks post wedding day! Final delivery will come via dropbox, you can request it on an SD card as well!
