Wedding planning can feel like a lot in the beginning.

So many decisions.
So many vendors.
And sometimes it’s hard to know where to start.

That’s one of the reasons I genuinely love bridal shows.

They create a space where couples can slow down for a moment, ask questions, meet vendors face-to-face, and start getting a feel for what kind of experience they really want for their wedding day.

And this weekend, there’s a really good one coming to Dallas!

I’ll be at the Dallas Bridal Show at Dallas Market Hall
📅 Saturday + Sunday
⏰ 10am–4pm

If you’re attending, I’d absolutely love to meet you, hear about your wedding plans, and help answer any questions you might have about photography.

Whether you’re just starting the planning process or already have a vision coming together, it’s always such a joy getting to connect with couples in person. 🥰

Come say hello 👋🏻
I can’t wait to meet you!

As the year wraps up, I’m reflecting on how much of a privilege it is to do this work…
to step into people’s lives, if only for a moment, and help preserve what matters most.

I’m deeply grateful. For the families who trusted me. For the love stories I witnessed. For the moments I had the honor of being part of.
For all of it.

Thank you for trusting me with your stories this year.
They’ve shaped my heart more than you know - and they’re why this work continues to mean so much to me.

I can’t wait to see what we create together next.
2026, I’m so ready for you. ✨

What are you most excited to remember this coming year?

Happy New Year!! 🥂🎊

I cannot believe it’s already been over a year since I watched these cuties get engaged! 😱

And now… tomorrow, I get to watch them officially tie the knot with a beautiful church ceremony and a stunning celebration at Montclair Event Venue!

Tomorrow’s wedding officially closes out my 2025 season (for weddings, that is). It always hits me how quickly the year goes… and how lucky I am to spend it witnessing and documenting moments like these. 🥹✨

Here’s to soaking in every moment tomorrow and finishing the year with a bang. Let’s gooo! 🎉✨

✨ Tuesday Traditions: Clinking Glasses for a Kiss ✨

You know that moment during a reception when someone starts clinking their glass… and suddenly all eyes are on the couple? 👀💋

It’s one of those traditions that always gets a laugh (and maybe a blush or two). But unlike some of the older customs we’ve been talking about lately, this one’s actually pretty modern!

From what I could find, this tradition started popping up across North America in the early 1900s as a fun, lighthearted way for guests to show their love and get the couple to share a kiss during dinner. 💛

It isn’t tied to religion or deep symbolism like many of the others - just pure celebration and a fun way to keep the energy high. 🥂

If you’ve been loving these, stick around! I’ll be shining a light on a handful more wedding traditions throughout the rest of the year! ✨

It’s reviews like this that remind me why I do what I do 🥹💛

One of my biggest goals on a wedding day is to create a space where you can breathe; where you know you’re taken care of, so you're able to just be fully present and soak in every moment.

Knowing that I helped create that kind of experience means the world.

Feeling so grateful for the incredible couples who trust me to capture their love stories. It’s truly the best job ever. 🥰

Now that you’ve picked your wedding website… here’s what to include!

(If you missed it, check out last week's post breaking down the top wedding websites!)

Your website is the hub where guests find everything they need—so make sure it’s clear, easy to navigate, and full of the important details!

Here are some must-haves to consider ⬇️

💛 Your Story – How you met, your story, the proposal... give a little insight into your sweet love story!

📅 The Schedule – Your wedding date, ceremony + reception times, and any pre/post events.

📍 Location Details – Venue name, address, parking info, and maps.

🧳 Travel Info – Hotel blocks, nearby airports, and any transportation details.

👗 Dress Code – Give your guests a clear idea of the vibe or formality.

🎁 Registry Links – Make it easy for guests to find your wishlist.

📸 Photo Sharing Info – Create a shared folder or hashtag for guests to upload their pics to. And/or share your engagement photos here too!

💬 FAQs – Common questions like “Can I bring a plus one?” or “Are kids invited?”

💌 RSVP Page – Simple, mobile-friendly, and clear on who’s invited.

Remember: the goal is to answer questions before they even have to ask.

👉🏻 What’s something fun or personal you’ve seen couples include on their wedding website?

October has been so very busy - and I have at least 10 or so sessions I still need to catch up on and share here!

From weddings, to birthday events, engagements, proposals, maternity and family sessions. It's been such a fun few weeks! So much to celebrate 🥰

But, I wanted to start by sharing these cuties and congratulating them on their ridiculously beautiful and fun lakehouse wedding! Can't wait to share more from this stunner of a day soon!

I mean, look at them! How cute are they!? I just can't with how they completely light up while looking at each other 🥹😭

✨ Tuesday Traditions: Flower Girl + Ring Bearer ✨

Okay, as evidenced by these first two photos… we didn’t exactly follow tradition on this one 😅 Our friends helped us turn it on its head, because honestly, it just felt way more us. (Keep swiping for some more traditional takes though!)

But whether it’s a little one carefully tossing petals or proudly carrying the rings like it’s the most important job in the world… did you know these sweet roles actually have ancient roots?

🌸 Flower Girl
This adorable tradition goes all the way back to ancient Greece and Rome, where girls would scatter grains, herbs, or petals ahead of the bride to symbolize fertility, prosperity, and new beginnings.

Over time, that evolved into the flower girls we know today: creating a path of beauty, innocence, and hope as the bride walks toward her next chapter.

💍 Ring Bearer
This one seems to trace back to ancient Egypt, where precious jewels were carried on decorative pillows during ceremonies.

By the Medieval and Victorian eras, children began carrying the rings (or symbolic objects) as a gesture of trust, loyalty, and the couple’s promise for the future.

👉🏻 What do you think of this tradition? Will you (or did you) include it in your ceremony? Or maybe put your own creative twist on it? ⬇️

✨ Tradition Tuesday: Why Bridesmaids Dressed Alike ✨

Ever wondered why bridesmaids traditionally wear matching dresses?

It’s not just for the photos — this tradition actually has some really interesting roots that go way back.

In ancient Roman times, weddings were believed to attract evil spirits and ill-wishers. To protect the bride, it was customary for her attendants to dress exactly like her to confuse any spirits or jealous suitors who might try to harm or curse her.

Later, during the Middle Ages, the idea stuck around, but for a slightly different reason. Weddings were often political or financial alliances, and bridesmaids were meant to act as decoys against anyone who might try to kidnap or sabotage the bride before she made it to the altar (wild, right?).

By the Victorian era, the purpose shifted from protection to aesthetics/presentation. Bridesmaids still dressed alike, but now it was seen as a symbol of harmony and support for the bride — complementing her look without overshadowing her.

So while today we think of matching dresses as simply “the norm,” it actually started as an ancient superstition meant to keep the bride safe and her marriage blessed.

Have you ever heard this one??
