You don’t have to schedule newborn photos in the first 2-3 weeks. Yes, I said it. Read that again.

I truly love newborn photos. Don’t get me wrong! I love how tiny and sleepy they are. And I photograph a lot of precious little ones at this age. I will always offer newborns.

But the first two-three weeks are not the only chance you have for meaningful and beautiful photos. These photos were taken when this little one was three months old. And I am absolutely obsessed with them! I think they speak for themselves!

Waiting three months allowed for the baby to interact more, to be more predictable, and for Mom and Dad to feel more rested and like themselves. This session reflects the beauty of the ordinary moments of life with a little one - and that is incredibly special and worth remembering!

Not sure if At Home photos are for you? Let this post reassure you!!

I get it…You’re worried about your house. Toys on the floor, laundry stacked up, stained carpets, window smudges - evidence of your life lived as a family. What makes your home the perfect place for photos is not because it is perfect. It’s not because your home looks immaculate and looks like a magazine. (Cool if does!) It’s because it’s where you live. Give me some windows and good light and we can work with your space. Promise! And if you live in a very dark home, we can take it outside.

When you book a session with me, we talk about the vision for your session. From there, we discuss timing and light. Because these things are KEY for At Home Sessions.

And honestly, At Home Sessions make things easier!! If you are a mom with littles, your plate is full with the day to day. Why not take driving across town to a random park in clothes that are more formal than you usually wear off your to-do list and let me come to you instead!

We can plan a session that really captures the heart of your family. Your people. Your space. Your joy.

Let’s talk Family Photos. 📢

Look, I get it. If you’re someone who has always had family photos taken at a park, you might feel like At Home photos are not for you.

But I want to offer a different perspective. The reason I have gone all in on this for the past year is because I love At Home Photos. I truly believe that in your home is where the ✨MAGIC✨happens.

At Home photos are for those who are looking for an experience and not a transaction. For families, who want something more than perfectly posed images for a Christmas card. While we will get a smiling at the camera shot (because we all want one!), I mostly focus on FUN.

Family Photos shouldn’t be a stressful experience! By bringing them to your home, we create space for everyone to relax, connect, and have fun. I still have a few openings, if you are interested please reach out!

✨✨Introducing The Magic of Childhood!✨
🗓️Coming Saturday, July 25, 10-11am in Richardson!

❤️I have 4 more spots available. Reach out for more info!

I have long loved watching my girls play. I remember their favorite books from when they were babies, their first lovies, and the toys and books they now play with and read. Our days at home are filled with musicals, dancing, performing, and pretending. Out of my love for these simple moments, I am offering what I call The Magic of Childhood.

The portraits you see in this post show the simplicity and beauty of childhood, that nostalgic thing that I can only think to call magic, what we wish we could hold onto and remember for years to come.

Dress your child in something they love to wear (Yes, that can include rainboots, dress up clothes, or their favorite outfit.) Bring a few of their favorite toys or things that they enjoy. And then let me capture the magic.

Picture this: A night at home this summer, the kids’ running around in the backyard, playing on the swing, eating watermelon or popsicles, the nightly bedtime routine, reading stories, tucking them in and saying night-night.
This typical day, in the long run, is not so typical. Added together, the typical days make up your life. You don’t want to miss this!

I’m here for you, behind the lens, carefully seeing, so you can cherish these moments At Home.

Reach out so I can get you on my calendar. I make artwork out of the every day. ❤️

Somewhere along the way, family photography became about portraying perfection. A perfect setting, perfect wardrobe, perfect lighting, perfect poses. But isn’t that stressful?

At Home Photography documents the real to see the beauty you will want to remember.

Friends, I want you to have family photos that capture what is real and beautiful in your season of life. I want your photos to feel like you!

I think a lot of photography is focused on creating content. As photographers, it’s easy to approach a session with an instagram feed in mind. So the clothing looks similar, the homes look similar, the poses look similar.

Here’s where my approach is different. I want to capture what is real. I want families to show up in clothes that they feel good in, at a location that is meaningful to them (at home or outdoor), and I want to have FUN. This kind of photography is slow, patient, and present. And it recognizes that each person and family is unique. It’s not a one-size-fits-all mentality.

For me, the goal is that families will feel seen and loved just as they are.

So if you are looking for something different, let’s chat!

This session was on an incredibly windy day at this family’s favorite local park. It was such a sweet time together. We played, ran, and chased the last bit of daylight. What made this session beautiful was not a perfect setting but the love they have for one another in a special place.

2026 so far has been a time of reflection. A time to think deeply about the work that I do and how I do it. It’s hard to believe I’ve been running this business for as long as I have. There is still much I want to learn. There is so much room for growth. But as I look back, I’m filled with gratitude for this journey I’ve been on and all its ups and downs. My life looks much different than it did when I started my business. The most significant being that I now have three children! Three little ones who inspire me and remind me of what is most important in life.
So here are 5 things that I’m still learning. I say *still learning* because I am a work in progress here.

I’m still learning to evaluate my boundaries and say no.

I’m still learning to hone in on my vision and what I love to photograph.

I’m still learning that as my kids grow and family life changes, my work and business has to change too.

I’m still learning that my business can look different than others. There is freedom here!

And I’m still learning that at the end of the day I am not defined by my work. It is not my identity. My value is not based on how many sessions I take on or how many inquiries I get in a day. And when I view my work accurately as a gift and not my identity, I am free to create and simply enjoy it.

What is something you are learning? Comment below and let me know!

I’ve been quiet on here the last month. Sometimes it’s helpful to take a break from social media and remove the pressure of always sharing content. I’ve really never been good at it. The reason has never been related to not having content. It is simply that I’m choosing how I want to spend my energy. I’m learning to give myself space and not constantly put myself under pressure to do it all. Because the reality is, I can’t do it all. I have limitations. I only have so much I can give each day and I have to prioritize what I give my time and energy towards. This is true for all of us.
While I wish posting was easier for me, some days it’s just too time consuming. I freeze up and don’t know what I should or want to share. I’ve started writing more as a means of processing questions I have and things that are on my mind. Because of this, I’ve started a substack. The link is in my profile. On my page, I’ll be sharing the things I’m processing as a creative and as a Mom. I’m writing about my journey to pursue life-giving and meaningful family photography. I will likely only post once a week or so, but my hope is to share encouragement through honesty and vulnerability. I’d love it if you would check it out.

Also, this song by is one I listen to often on my way to a session. It’s so good and is something I resonate with deeply.
