Iā€™ve lied to you all. šŸ˜­

Iā€™ve been calling myself a documentary photographer and thatā€™s not exactly true. As much as I truly am a fly on the wall at most weddings and let things just happen naturally with no influence of mine. There is still some direction in the posing of the couples which negates the term documentary altogether.

Iā€™m searching for a word that hybrids documentary and slight direction when it comes the couple posing. Would it be ā€œorganicā€ or maybe ā€œcandidā€?

Any ideas or tips on this from other photographers would be so helpful!

Orā€¦maybe Iā€™m just overthinking it šŸ˜‚ Iā€™m so good at that!!

I am just loving family photos that have a good mix of posy photos (for the family members to frame) but mostly documentary type photos of your family just being yourselves. I adore this so much and want to do more! With this sweet family I just let them be in this beautiful field and just told them to act like I wasnā€™t there and to go explore like they would at a park. It takes so much pressure off the family to feel like they need to be smiling the entire time. I loved it so much! thank you for letting me document you familyā€™s Motherā€™s Day like this. They turned out perfect! Even the posy ones šŸ„° what do you think of nontraditional family photos like this?

Itā€™s been a while since Iā€™ve shared a glimpse of my world, so hereā€™s a little update on what makes my heart sing. šŸŒŸ

Firstly, let me introduce you to the loves of my life: my amazing husband, our two adorable dogs, and our two mischievous cats. They bring boundless joy and laughter to every corner of our home. šŸ¾ā¤ļø

When Iā€™m not behind the lens capturing lifeā€™s beautiful moments, youā€™ll find me immersed in the world of construction during the week, building dreams one brick at a time. Itā€™s a different kind of artistry, but equally fulfilling. šŸ”ØšŸ’¼

Iā€™m also a die-hard fan of ā€œFriendsā€ (who isnā€™t, right?), and thereā€™s nothing quite like cozying up with a cup of tea and indulging in some classic Criterion films. šŸŽ„ā˜•

As an aunt, I cherish the moments spent with my niece and my son, watching them grow and discovering the world through their eyes. Their laughter is the sweetest melody. šŸ’–
