A personal message from me, Brandi.
I never imagined I would have to make a post like this, but after seeing my name and Oh Snap Photography being brought into a situation that did not involve me or my business, I feel like I need to speak directly to the clients and community who have supported me.
First and foremost, the dispute currently being discussed publicly is not a dispute involving me or Oh Snap Photography.
When I entered into a merger involving the former Loving Memories clientele, I genuinely believed I was doing something positive — both for the growth of my own business and for the clients who still had sessions that needed to be fulfilled.
Many of those sessions had been purchased long before I became involved, and in many cases the money for those sessions had already been paid to the former Loving Memories business. Regardless, I stepped in and honored those sessions because I wanted those families to receive what they had purchased.
I was not involved in the original sale of Loving Memories in 2023. I was not a party to whatever agreements were made at that time, and I did not purchase Loving Memories from Krista. My own agreement occurred approximately a year and a half later.
That is why I am so heartbroken and confused to see myself and my business being pulled into a dispute surrounding circumstances that happened before I was ever involved.
I have spent the last few years pouring so much of myself into Oh Snap Photography. I am a photographer, but I’m also a mom of two, a wife, and someone who goes home to a farm full of responsibilities after the workday is over. I don’t answer emails or phone calls on weekends because those days are reserved for my family and for photographing weddings. Sometimes my communication may take a little longer than I would like, but a delayed response has never meant that I don’t care about my clients.
Reading comments criticizing my work and people’s experiences with my business genuinely hurts.
I completely understand that photography is subjective. My style will not be for everyone, and I am human. I will never claim that I have handled every single situation perfectly.
But I can say with my whole heart that I have never intentionally tried to give someone a bad experience.
I started doing this because I love photography. I love capturing families as they grow. I love watching couples become spouses and then parents. I love seeing the same little faces come back year after year. I love creating something that people will still have hanging on their walls decades from now.
That’s what this has always been about for me.
What saddens me most is reading concerns from people who never brought those concerns directly to me.
If you had a session with someone working on behalf of my company and didn’t feel that you received the experience you deserved, I genuinely wish you had told me.
I cannot correct something that I don’t know is happening.
Had I known, I could have addressed it with the photographer involved. I could have offered a reshoot. I could have offered another session. I could have made changes within my team.
I would have tried to make it right, because I genuinely care about the experience people have with my business.
And if there is anyone reading this who previously had an experience with Oh Snap Photography that left you disappointed, I am still willing to hear you. Please reach out to me privately.
Going forward, I have made the decision that I will personally photograph the sessions booked with Oh Snap Photography. I will no longer have a photography team representing my business. I want my clients to know exactly who they are booking, who will be behind the camera, and who is responsible for the experience they receive.
There have been many difficult things that I have personally had to navigate behind the scenes throughout this merger. I chose not to bring those matters to social media. I didn’t publicly attack anyone. I didn’t share private disagreements or try to tear anyone else down.
I stayed in my lane, continued serving my clients, and tried to move forward.
That is why being publicly pulled into something that predates my involvement is incredibly upsetting.
My agreement with the people who purchased Loving Memories occurred approximately a year and a half after that original sale.
Whatever disagreements exist surrounding that original transaction need to remain between the people who were actually involved in it.
Please do not place me, my business, or my family in the middle of it.
I am human. I am not perfect. I have made mistakes while growing a business, But when someone comes to me with a legitimate concern, I will always do my best to listen and find a reasonable way to make things right.
Today, though, I am heartbroken.
It is incredibly difficult to watch something I have worked so hard to build become collateral damage in a situation that had nothing to do with me.
To every client who has trusted me with your babies, your families, your weddings, your pregnancies, your milestones and your memories — thank you. 🤍
Your support means more to me than you probably realize, especially today.
I am going to continue doing what I have always tried to do: show up, learn, grow, take care of my clients, create beautiful photographs and keep building something that I am proud to put my name behind.
I will also be taking the appropriate steps necessary to address what is happening and protect my business.
For now, I simply ask that disagreements involving transactions or events that occurred before my involvement not be attributed to me or Oh Snap Photography.
I am Brandi Lester. I am the owner and photographer behind Oh Snap Photography. And I genuinely care about the people who trust me with their memories.
